Afterlife
One month later
So much has happened in the past month. First of all, Emmett came back three days after he left, and when he returned he talked to me like a was just an adverage person. He did tease me a lot, though at the time I didn't think of it as anything more then joking with a friend. The rest of the Cullen though, who I had met as Jasper, Alice, Edward, all watched me strangely, even their human friend. Ooops, I mean Bella, Edward's "girlfriend".
Penny and I had gotten closer. We had clicked from the beginning, but now it was as if we were joined at the hip. I didn't think I had ever had a best friend. Even Amber and Lynx weren't my BEST friends. They were just really good friends. Penny was just like me, she loved the same kinda music, books, and things like that.
Even Jenna and I got closer. It all started on a dreary Sunday afternoon and I found her in her room crying. Something about the sight tugged at my heart but I couldn't tell why. Was it just because I felt bad for her? No, I didn't think so. So, I went and sat on the bed next to her. I quietly asked her what was wrong and then Jenna totally broke down. She flug her arms around me in a loving gesture and told me what was happening.
She told me about the day her father died.
He had been on a very imporatant business trip in Houston. He was walking down the street towards his hotel when two cars came barreling down the street. They had guns and were shotting random people on the street, a drive by. I didn't know what to say to this so I just patted her back soothingly. She told me, in hiccups, that twelve people had died that day.
Including her father.
Jenna told me about how before he left for his business trip they had gotten into a really big fight. About what, Jenna couldn't remember. All she knew was that the last thing she said to her father was "I hate you!" I told her that he was up in heaven and that he was all better now and that he knew how sorry she was.
"Do you really believe in heaven and hell?" Jenna asked, bewildered.
"Of course, where else would we go when we die?" I asked her in return. She shrugged her shoulders.
"Do you feel better now?" I asked, getting up and heading towards the door. She grinned and nodded.
"Yes, thank you. I can't talk about this to my mom, it upsets her too much and I don't want to do that to her." Jenna thanked me. I nodded and left the room.
My grades were also improving. I had gone from straight Fs to straight Cs, which isn't all that good, but it was better then what I had. Because of my grades, I had been rewarded by gaining the telephone. The first person I called was Amber. She didn't anwser so I called Lynx. She was overjoyed when she found out it was me. We talked for hours, just catching up things. She told me about my old high school and I told her about my new high school. I left Emmett out of it totally, I didn't want to discuss Emmett with her at this moment till I knew what was going on with the two of us.
I am currently sitting in my 3rd period, barey listening to Dr. Varnen talk about recipricals. Math was the one subject I was terrible at, I couldn't get it if I wanted to. Dr. Varnen asked me to stay after school so he could talk to me.
"You need a tutor." He said, simply handing me my last test. 28%. Shit, yupp I needed a tutor. And you know how karma is a bitch? Well, karma just desided to pick on me today. "I have a tutor who has already offered to help you. You should know him, Emmett Cullen?" I swear, my stomach hit the floor when he spoke Emmett's name.
"Yes, I know him." I told Dr. Varnen. Dr. Varnen dismissed me and I walked, defeated, to my locker. Someone was waiting for me when I reached it. Emmett Cullen leaned causally on my locker with the biggest smile on his angel face. I must addmit, Emmett Cullen looked so hot and when I say hot I mean smokin'. But that's beside the point. He looked like he had just won the biggest battle in all of history.
