CHAPTER 7 - DOES DESTINY EXIST?

NEAR TEMPLE ENTRANCE

Nandini enters the temple and is surprised to see someone in front of her.

Nandini: Tum yahan? (You here?)

Navya: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NANDINI! We finally meet face to face!

(Navya and Nandini became online friends two years ago and started video chatting over time. Navya decided to surprise Nandini on her birthday by visiting Paris.)

Nandini is thrilled and hugs her. Navya hugs her back.

Nandini: I'm so happy we finally met. This is the best birthday gift ever! But why didn't you tell me you were coming?

Navya: That's because I wanted it to be a surprise. I knew you always go to the Ganesha temple on your birthday, so I chose this place to meet you. Were you surprised?

Nandini: Of course, I was! Thank you so much for this surprise.

Nandini looks around.

Nandini: Did you come to Paris alone?

Navya: No, I came with my boyfriend, Cabir, and his friend, Manik.

Nandini: MANIK?

Navya: Oh yeah, I haven't told you about him yet. Manik is Cabir's best friend. He's the reason Cabir came to the temple today. I was so surprised to learn that Manik was so keen to get Bappa's blessing.

Nandini (whispering to herself): I guess this Manik is someone else.

Navya: What? Did you say something?

Navya: Of course, I will! Come with me.

Nandini remains standing, lost in thought.

Nandini (to herself): Why do I feel like that Manik is around me? Even if he is, I won't talk to him.

Navya: Nandini, where are you? Come with me.

Navya holds Nandini's hand and leads her inside the temple.

INSIDE TEMPLE

Cabir: God, that girl definitely has something special. First, she made you go to a temple, and now she's making you believe in destiny, too. Now even I'm dying to meet my future Bhabhi.

Manik: Did you say something?

Cabir checks Manik's forehead.

Manik: What are you doing?

Cabir: Checking if you have a fever.

Manik: A fever for what?

Cabir: One of the symptoms of being in love is getting lost in your own thoughts, which you're doing. The next symptom is a fever. That's why I'm checking.

Manik: Cabir, you're going to get it from me.

Cabir starts to run, and Manik chases him. They run toward Navya and Nandini.
