Why is Fire Bad?

(Third POV)
Kairi and Niko were looking for a job. Riku tries to tackle Niko but fails yet his arm is wrap around his neck.
"You guys look for a job?" Riku asks.
"Yeah what in it for you?" Niko said trying to breath and irrated.
"What kind of job are you taking?" Riku asks.
"We are taking on nineteen monsters in the artic." Kairi says showing him the paper and smiling.
"Why don't we take on a job we can all do?" Riku asks Kairi.
"Well, me and Niko picked this job and got it approved, but I got this one too." Kairi says pulling out another paper. 
"Really?! So let's go!" Riku says smiling.
"Wait! Look you can come with us, but keep the fire under control." Niko said with a strict yet caution look on his face.
"What do you mean? My fire has always been in control." Riku says innocently.
"Do you want to know how many times you wreck stuff and Kairi could get hurt it's not possible," Niko yelled at Riku.
"You guys sound like brothers, Niko I didn't know you cared for me that much, I know I have been getting word about you and how much you care. But I didn't know it was that bad." Kairi said.
"Well, I have known you for a month so it doesn't matter," Niko says secretly blushing.
"Geez Niko if you like her then just say it."
"You idiot I don't like her and you know that!" Niko yells at Riku. " I'm just keeping her safe from you!"
"Wait I thought you care for me. You don't like me at all." Kairi said sadly.
"No, no, no! It's just I don't like that I like you as a friend that's all." Niko said in a comforting tone.
"Aww! Niko you made her sad. your powers really do reflect your heart, don't they? " Riku said trying to sound synthetic.
"Please give me a break when you first met her you threaten to burn her snow," Niko said agitatedly.
"Well, I'm not the one that made her sad. " Riku said ready to fight him.
"Fine let's fight then." Niko says
First it was a fist fight one punched and kicked the other the other did the same thing. Then they started to use there powers. The ice and fire kept getting everywhere. All of a sudden a fire ball went directly toward Kairi.
"Oh no blizzard!" Kairi shout as a blizzard appeared.
The fire ball went past the snow and hit Kairi. Kairi fell to the ground and collapse.
"Kairi! Kairi are you okay?" Riku said.
"Master!" Niko said.
The master came and was shocked.
"It's to late Niko has to freeze her before anything happens to her and more damage is caused." Master Touma said.
"Yes master." Niko said.
He freezed Kairi and took into the mountains and set up a ice house.
He put Kairi in the ice house and left.
He got back and stop talking to everyone for a week.
