Ash's perspective
The sun had just gone up the horizon. People left their homes and went to work, and I would soon head over to the theater for a rehearsal.
I read through the lyrics of my newest song and nodded approving. This is good! I think. It's good right? It's a lovesong and I'm not so interested in love anymore, but I really like this song. It has something... Special to it. I don't know what, but it's there.
I put the pen aside and liftet the paper from the table.
"You're on my mind, all the time. Brown eyes and nice smiles." I sang. "You know me better than even I do. You're the only one that can make me better." I suddenly stopped singing as I realised something.
Brown eyes? The only one that can make me better? Then it dawned on me.
I wrote a lovesong... About Johnny.
The paper with the lyrics fell out of my hand, and it sank to the floor. The words on the paper made it clear. Crystal clear who it was about.
Am I in love with Johnny? I thought about his smile, about the things he said to me. I thought about how his voice always sent chills down my spine. The warm and fluffy feeling that sneaked up inside me was undeniable. Then I quickly shook it off and lifted up the paper from the floor.
No. I can't handle falling in love again. Not now, and not ever.
Then I remembered the rehearsal. The lovesong was roughly stuffed away in my pocket as I left my apartment. With my guitar under the arm, of course, and with Johnny on my mind.
Johnny's perspective
I parked my truck outside of the theater. I was focusing on the song that I was going to train on, so I didn't see Ash until she was right beside me.
"Hi Johnny." Ash said as she walked by me on her way to the theater. I jumped, and quickly stuttered out a hi. The second she looked away, I facepalmed myself. Why did I stutter?
I need to play it cool. Ice cool. But everytime I look at her... I just can't play cool. I just stand there like a fool, not knowing what to do.
Ash opened the door to the theater and walked in, leaving me outside. I sighed, and started walking up the stairs, when I saw a piece of paper lying on the ground.
Did Ash drop this? I think she did. I reached down, and unfurled the paper. It was her handwriting, I'm sure of it. I read through the text, and I couldn't hold back the smile that crept on to my lips.
Did she write this... About me?
