Milo stumbled into your room, slipping and falling hard at the last step, his feet stuttering and catching. You shot up, your body cracking and groaning at the sudden moment, but you pushed the pain down. You threw your legs over the side of the bed and stood. Your heroic moment, however, was short lived as your legs buckled and gave beneath you. You fell harshly onto the linoleum, your form matching Milo's as your cheek slammed into the ground. You quickly crawled towards Milo, grunting in pain occasionally. Milo grit his teeth as he lifted his now bruised cheek to catch sight of a matching one on you.
You gave him a toothy grin as you held a hand out to him. Milo didn't smile back, but rather dragged your bag to your hand. Your eye brows furrowed, but you said nothing as you grabbed the bag's strap and dragged it to the bed. You climbed back up, and tucked yourself in with the hospital sheets. Milo stood up, brushing dust off of his clothes, and rubbing his cheek tenderly.
His brown eyes stayed glued to the ground, his face down cast in thought. You cleared your throat awkwardly, then pulled your backpack up next to you.
"So, Milo. How were my folks?" You asked quietly, rummaging through your bag. You pulled out the fleece throw and flashed a grateful smile to Milo. "Thanks man! I love this blanket!" Milo refused to look up and didn't offer a reply. Your face fell, a sadness creeping into you. You grabbed one of the napkins that sat next to your bed and began to tear it apart nervously. "Milo?" You asked tenderly.
"I... I didn't see your parents..." Milo muttered. His face flushed a deep red as the thought of the lace garment tucked in his bag flashed through his mind and what you would look like in it.
"You didn't? I'm positive they would have been up. They make sneaking out impossible. Well, I'm just glad you got my stuff! Sorry my room was such a mess..." You trailed off, your face falling further as Milo looked away from you. You lowered your head, clutching your items tightly in your hands. As your head lowered, however, your eyes didn't fail to catch sight of something bright red sticking out of Milo's bag. Your brows furrowed in confusion.
"Milo?" You asked. Milo's head snapped up to look at you, his face bright red and full of guilt. "What's that in your bag?" You asked timidly, pointing at the red item. Milo caught sight of it and quickly shoved it back into his bag, his face burning a darker shade of red, if even possible. Your eyes narrowed in suspicion. You tore the napkin harder, ripping it into tiny shreds.
Milo quickly averted his gaze away from you and to the floor. "Well, if you won't tell me your secret, I'll just tell you my surprise first!" You exclaimed, gaining his attention again. Milo's face stained a look of complete confusion at your sudden outburst of excitement.
"I'm getting out of here tomorrow afternoon!" You yelled, throwing your arms into the air, throwing ripped up pieces of napkin like confetti. You laughed happily, relaxing back onto the hospital bed's pillow. Milo's eyes widened as he stared at you with disbelief.
"(Y-Y/n)... Is that... Are you serious!?" Milo asked, excitement lacing his tone. You nodded as frantically as your neck could. Your wide smile was contagious, causing a large toothy smile to breakout on Milo's face. He quickly ran over to you, barely tripping, and engulfed you in a large hug. You laughed as your wrapped your arms around Milo's waist, pulling him closer to you. He buried his face in your neck as you buried yours in his shoulder.
