Chapter 1

"Haha! Missed me!" Ruby screamed while running away from Marill. The small blue mouse Pokémon sprayed a small amount of water at Ruby, still it missed. Twinleaf Town was beautiful in the summer time. Tons of Starlys flew over head while the sun beamed on the town and the lake. Ruby wore a two piece bathing suit that was light blue and had dark blue jewels at the bottom piece that looked like a skirt.

Her black long hair was pulled back into a high ponytail. Ruby laughed while running away from Marill. "Ruby! Get's some clothes on! We are going to Professor Rowan's Lab!!!" Her mom yelled. She opened the door and Ruby's mom came out. Ruby groaned and pointed at Marill. "What about Marill?" Ruby asked.Her mom laughed as she shook her head. "Marill will have to wait," She said.

Ruby picked up the small mouse and smiled happily at it, "Mar!" It squealed. "I'm taking it in the house!" Ruby said running past her mom. She noticed the tv was on and sat Marill on the couch. "Ok Mar, stay right there and watch.....um Pokémon documentaries," Ruby said before running up her stairs. Her room was a mess, as always as she went in the bathroom and changed out of her bathing suit and wore black shorts with her solid black tank top, over it was her red short top that had a white line run across it.

She also slipped on her black and red sneakers with her white socks and black gloves that had the fingers missing. Brushing her wet hair she quickly blow dried it so it was thin and silk. Smiling at her reflection she put on her black, red, and white cap on. "Ready in under twenty minutes, "Ruby said to herself. Before she left her room, she picked up her bag off her messy desk.

Running down the stairs she noticed Marill was gone. Sighing, she went into the kitchen. "Mar!Where are you," Ruby asked aloud. She opened the top cabinet to see Marill munching on Poffins, the ones Ruby made yesterday."Oh Marill, I was going to give you one later," she said before pulling Marill out of the cabinet. With Marill in her right arm, she used her left to get down the small sack of Poffins.

Marill's face had crumbs and her mouth was full of Poffins. Ruby laughed while placing the Pokémon cookies in her bag. "Ok no more until dinner," Ruby said giggling. Marill wasn't exactly Ruby's Pokémon, she was mostly like a pet, Marill followed Ruby around ever since it hatched from an egg, when it was in its first evolution. When Ruby moved here, she found an egg in the house. She hid it from her mom and took care of it until it hatched.

It soon evolved one day when they were outside. When Ruby's mom found out about it, Ruby promised to take care of it. Her mom agreed. Walking outside,a nice cool breeze hit Ruby's face. "It's a beautiful day," She said smiling. Her mom waited in the car for Ruby. Spotting her mom, Ruby ran to the car and got into the passenger's seat."Took you long enough, did you clean your room?" Her mom asked.

Ruby smiled nervously while buckling up herself and Marill in the car."Um...ya!It's super clean!" Ruby lied. Her mom nodded and started the car, turning on the A.C. "Ya I doubt that," She said laughing. Ruby frowned and looked out the window."Oops," Ruby said. Her mom shook her head. "Your cleaning it when we get home," She said."Mar...." Marill sighed.

As they were driving past, many beautiful trees had berries growing from it and they spotted many different Pokémon as well. "Wow," Ruby said spotting a Bidoof."Mar!" Marill exclaimed happily. After spotting many Pokémon,they stopped at Professor Rowan's Lab. Ruby literally jumped out of the car and ran up to the large building. "Awesome!" Ruby said excitedly.

Marill squealed happily as Ruby opened the doors and ran in. Many other professors were checking out different Pokémon, looking at fossils and even testing out potions and antidotes. Ruby stared in awe at all the Pokémon she had never seen. "What Pokémon is that?" she asked. A female scientist smiled politely. "This is a Buneary, would you like to hold it?"she asked.
