Misty
Misty spun in the air, happier than ever. She had friends. Real friends. Vaguely she remembered a time when she had none. But Misty didn't want to dwell on unhappiness, so she let herself be in the moment, just pleased to be iceskating. It took her mind off of the cold as well.
"Misty, you're making me cold." Jay nodded to her bare arms and legs and rubbed his shoulders.
Misty stopped and glided over to him. She took the jacket from his arms, leaning up to his face, and put it around him, smiling.
"You're not wearing a jacket, J-J! That's why you're cold."
Jay looked at Misty with wide eyes. Their noses were inches apart. Misty smiled. She didn't care about how close people were. To her, closeness was not awkward but nice. You have a person next to you, so why shouldn't you be close? You can be far away when no one is there.
Castor coughed. "Hey, you two. Let's get going. We still haven't found any devoratrix and that's starting to worry me. They could be hiding."
Liz smirked. "He's right. You can make-out later. Right now we have to destroy stuff."
Jay's face turned a bright shade of red and he quickly took a step back, only to slip on the ice. Misty put a hand on his back and stopped him from falling abruptly. Jay's face burned brighter, if that was possible.
"Y-you're really strong."
Misty smiled brightly. "Thanks!"
She lifted him up with her hand and skipped over to Castor, who laughed. Liz, riding on Castor's shoulder, swished her tail back and forth and smiled, if lizards could smile. Jay walked behind them, staring at his feet.
They were off again. Misty hoped there were devoratrix soon, because she was pumped up and ready to destroy. Everything was perfect. Well, almost. She just needed a couple of demons.
