Literally nothing but filler chapter. Enjoy!
Mikey Way's day was going better then he had first expected.
He woke up to his older brother singing a very off-key rendition of 'Happy Birthday' and shoving a plate of waffles at him. And the best part was, his mother and father had already left for work.
To say that Mikey didn't appreciate or like his parents would be inaccurate and unfair. He loved them, as most kids would love their own caregivers. But he hated that he could never be himself at home, or just anywhere he went with them. And it made things awkward when his friends came over, too.
Going back to the day at hand, he just couldn't wait to go to school and hang out with Pete. Everything just seemed so much better with Pete around.
"Happy birthday Mikey!" Pete called, excitement etched across his features as he sprinted across the schoolyard, his tie blowing in the wind the whole way. Mikey laughed as his brother drove off, letting Pete tackle him in a bone crushing hug.
"Happy birthday." He repeated, letting go of him and shoving a wrapped package into his arms.
"Thanks." Mikey grinned.
"Open it!" Pete whined impatiently. Mikey smiled to himself before carefully tearing open the wrapping. Inside he found a box, and when he pulled off the lid he was greeted with a collection of picks and dark blue bass strings.
"It's got your name on it." Pete smiled as Mikey picked up the small object.
"I love them." He smiled brightly. "Thank you so much, Pete. This is so cool." He hugged him again.
Just minutes later the bell rang, and Mikey trudged to the first of many classes. He walked in and sat down at the back of the room, keeping his head down and waiting patiently for the lesson to begin.
It was a shame that Pete wasn't in this class. Pete always had something to say to Mikey, and Mikey appreciated the conversation more then anything else.
The teacher arrived monetarily, and the students grew quiet as she read out the register. The names droned on an on, and Mikey knew that his would be last, just like always.
"Michelle Way?" The teacher called sharply.
Mikey felt his chest sink as he raised his hand. He wished he wasn't labeled as 'Michelle' anymore. He wished he didn't have to deal with a female body anymore.
But what else could he really do?
The class passed by quickly, and he made his way to the next quickly. This was the first class of the day that had Pete in it, and Mikey was looking forward to some company.
His best friend was waiting for him by the door, his books in his arms and a bored look on his face. Well, that's until he saw Mikey, anyway. As soon as he spotted his best friend his face broke into that big smile, and Mikey suddenly felt better about everything that had gone wrong today.
"Hey Pete." He smiles as they walk into the classroom.
"Hey MikeyWay." Pete grins in return. They make their way towards the back of the class, stopping a few rows ahead of Pete's ideal spot. The pair sat down, side by side, waiting for the class to start.
By the time lunch came around, Pete's excitement from the morning had returned. When thy sat down to eat at their normal table, Pete produces a packet of Jellybeans out of his bag, placing them down between him and his best friend.
"Jellybeans!" Mikey cheered, tearing the packet open and grabbing a handful.
Pete smiled to himself, enjoying his best friends happiness and knowing that he had done something good.
This is kinda like a part one of the day. Part two will be up soon. Hope it was alright!
