The next few classes went just like the first. No one knew who I was unless they were in my other classes. Once a teacher called roll call and I said my name or raised my hand the whole class erupted in whispers each and every time. Now it is lunchtime.I enter the cafeteria and get into the lunch line. I notice that we're having pizza today and it instantly boosts my mood. Once it's my turn I grab a pizza slice, a handful of fries, scoop some apple slices onto my tray. I grab chocolate milk as well and sit down at the table I always eat at and wait for Kassie.
Soon enough Kassie plops down onto a chair beside me and Kassie's boyfriend, Tucker, sits down along with his best friend, Noah. Kassie's actual name is Kansas but I just call her Kassie as a nickname. She is pretty tall and has strawberry blonde hair. Kassie is the same age as me and she's a cheerleader. Of course, she's not head cheerleader because that's Amber's spot. Amber's slaves, Bridget and Brooke like to make Kassie's life a living hell as well but for some reason, she won't quit the cheer squad. Kassie is also pretty popular but somehow Kassie and I managed to stay friends for this long.
"Hey, Ems, I'm loving the new look," Kassie tells me right before digging into her food. "Why did you change your look anyways?" Tucker asks me with a look of confusion. I smirk and tell them, "Because it's time to get my reputation back and teach these assholes a lesson." Tucker smirks and nods his head at my comment. He then continues to eat his slice of pizza.
Tucker is tall with brownish blond hair. He hangs out with my brothers friends on occasion but not every weekend. He's about the only country boy in our school who actually has good looks so the girls are always all over him. He ignores them though because he's mad in love with Kassie. Tucker and Kassie are the perfect country boy, city girl couple and in my opinion Edgewood High's cutest couple.
I am just about to finish my last apple slice when suddenly Jeremiah's hat is ripped off my head. I turn around to find a smirking Amber dangling his hat from her finger. "Hey isn't this Jeremiah's hat?" she asks whilst examining it. "Yeah, it is actually and in case you need to know he let me wear it so get over your self and leave me alone," I tell her with a menacing glare. The room goes silent while they process my comment and the look of shock on Amber's face is priceless. I'm pretty sure no one has ever talked to her like that.
Suddenly someone rips the hat from Amber's finger and gently places it back on my head. I look over and realize that it was Jeremiah himself. Jeremiah wraps his arm around me and shouts, "Look you selfish bitch, I gave my hat to her because it completes her new look, so I suggest you fuck off before I put you in your god damn place." The death glare Jeremiah is giving her is priceless. Amber crosses her arms and changes the expression of her face to a look of boredom.
She huffs and flips her hair over her shoulder. She starts to walk away but Jeremiah stops her, "Wait! Hold on I have a special present for you." he tells her and she turns around with a look of delight on her face. "Close your eyes," Jeremiah tells her with a smirk. She did as he said and then he snatches the chocolate milk from my lunch tray and walks up to her.
Jeremiah holds it over her head and whispers "I'd appreciate it if you stay out of my business because I can do whatever I want with my hat." He immediately pours the milk all over her head and even managed to get it on her precious cheer uniform. She screams and instantly opens her eyes. She pushes Jeremiah away and runs towards the cafeteria doors. "You are so dead Jeremiah!" Amber shouts and storms out of the cafeteria. The milk had caused her makeup to run and made her look like a melted wax figure which made it even better. Bridget and Brooke shriek and run after her.
The room erupts in partial gasps and whispers but most of the guys are cracking up laughing. Multiple people start to walk up to Jeremiah and pat him on the back. All I could do was grin ear to ear like an idiot.
