Journey to Fame (Finished)

Sherwin

We drive to the yard where Sherwin is kept, and see him immediately. He is a handsome horse who is currently facing in the field. The chestnut gelding looks up as he hears the new horse box being driven into the car park.

We jump out of the car and go to find his owner. She comes out of her house and introduces herself as Skye. She is a pretty last with short blonde hair, her jodphurs are dirty and get boots smothered in mud.

She takes us to get Sherwin' s head collar, and wet go to the field to catch him. I slowly all on and call his name. It is safe to say he is not a shy horse as he immediately cantering over to us. It is only me and Josh here, as JJ, George, and Jaymi are all looking at JJ' s choice of horses.

I lead him in and Skye shows how good he is to tack up. She leads him out into the arena and gets on him first. He carries his head in a perfect outline, and is a real show pony. Me and Josh set up a jump when asked, and watch him pop over it. His jump looks incredible.

Finally it's mine turn, I adjust my stirrups to a comfortable length, and ask him to walk on. He is very responsive to leg and a small squeeze is enough to get him going. The gelding is perfect in everything he does and Skye puts a massive jump up for us. We fly over it perfectly. "Good boy," I talk to him when we return to walk.  He is a very sweet horse and one I would love to own.

She puts him back in his stable and we talk about his past, and his temperament. I am told he has never been miss treated and he is perfect in the stable. We cool out some paperwork, and lead him into the horse box. Again, he acts beautifully and just walks straight in.

The drive to back to our stables is very quick, and we see that the other horse box, the one JJ was using, is already back. I get Sherwin out and walk him to his new home. I go into the yard and see there is already a horse with its head sticking out there. I pop Sherwin into a stable made for him and go and see the other newbie. 

"That's Bubble," a voice says behind me. JJ seems proud of himself for choosing such a gentle horse.

We all stand talking fire a moment before setting off to see our other horses. Fortunately, there is the owner of the land Bill willing to look after them.
