Journey to Fame (Finished)

Grace

We arrive at this house after an hour's drive, and knock on the door. We are led straight down the side of the house to the back of the garden where Grace's head is proud outside a stable door.

"It's a shame," the woman who owns her explains, "she is the most perfect and willing horse. She never used to stay here, only if it was forecast to snow really badly, or if the stables flooded. But I am afraid that I can no longer afford to keep her anywhere, and would like her to go to a new home."

Unfortunately, I cannot ride her, so I am shown many videos of her and the way she is ridden. I am told that she puts in the occasional buck, but apart from that she is much like Sherwin.

Her behaviour in the stable is impeccable, and she is a stinging mare. I never thought I'd get a mate because of their temperament sometimes, but this house is gorgeous, and I need her.

We fill out some more paperwork and I sit and talk to her owner for a while. She says that Grace had never bitten our kicked anyone and that she had never been miss treated, I hope that be true because she is too stunning to misuse. Hey owner says that she has had her since she was a tiny foal and she is now 9. Too lose this house for her just be hard, but I have promised that she is going to a good home and that I will care for her.

Once we are back at the yard, we arrive before JJ, and put Grace into her bed next to Sherwin. We cut some wood earlier, perfect for making labels for the doors. I start to carve names into them and make them look nice and pretty. I get Bill to put them on the doors, and they match perfectly, now Sherwin, Grace and Bubble all have name tags. When JJ comes back (he also has take away) he puts his new horse into the stable next to Bubble. His name is Gypsy. (So far, I definitely have the horses with the better names!) He sits the door and we start talking about all their different behaviours. They seem to be pretty much the same so far, but the horses we have left till last are the horses that are apparently a bit crazy. We shall see how that goes after we have eaten lunch.
