Chapter 12: Enemies and Cold Touches

Phantom's Pov

I really don't know when it became a good idea to visit Vlad but it was the best option to not have Danny sleep out-besides Maddie would never look there for him. I want him safe, and stabled. I pick up Danny in my arms- he yelped in surprised.

"Woah there ghost boy."
He said, being lifted all of a sudden.

"Where are you taking me?" He asked, eyes meeting up with mine.

I sighed and looked at him with a soft look.

"I know you are not going to like this.."
I said, bringing my hand up to caress his plump up chubby cheek. He leaned into my touch- I know it's been a harsh day for him and he needs a good meal and some rest...In my arms. I smiled sadly.

"But I think we should stay at...Vlad's for a bit.."
I hesitated to get that out my mouth. His reaction was quick, his eyes widening as he gasped.

"But why Phan-"
I hate to be the one interrupting him.

"I have to keep you somewhere and he's our best option-your mom will be looking for you and where is she not going to check?"
His lips quivered as he nodded.

"I see....but what if he attacks?"
He asked and I smiled at him.

"I'll always be there for you."
I spoke softly, leaning down to place kisses all over his round face to reassure him. He let out a lighthearted giggle, his face already as red as a tomato.

"Okay, okay, let's go."
He demanded, I nodded, quickly turning us invisible and flying at a constant speed.

Danny's Pov (bet you noticed I love writing in Dan's Pov)

I didn't really enjoy the idea of visiting the sicko that's after me and my family- the sicko who tried to ruin my life multiple times. The sicko who-who- is just sick in general. But if Phantom is here with me, I'll be quite happy. We finally arrived the mansion we knew all to well. Phantom landed face to face with the double doors. He had a tight hold on me, I knew he was tense, I felt it under his protective hold. He knocked on the door, but he hesitated at first. It happened to be seven seconds before the doors swung opened. There he was the man- no monster himself, standing there wearing his bathrobe and sipping on what seem to be either coffee or chocolate. He took a second to process who was on his front steps before taking a spit take on me. That asshole! Chocolate, it was hot chocolate!

"What in ghost termination do you think you are doing!?"
I snapped at him, trashing around Phantom's grip but he was too stronger- or I'm just weak, either way, that was completely uncalled for, even if you do hate me!

"Calm down Danny, I bet he didn't mean it."
He growled softly, wiping my face off and never losing eye contact with the Vlad. Vlad chuckled, backing up to shut the door in our faces but Phantom was fast.

"Look, I know you hate us but we just need somewhere to rest and eat."
He said clenching his jaw, holding me close to his body. Vlad looked at us, almost amused in a sickening weird way.

"How did you separate?"
He asked, his face wearing a smirk. Phantom shook his head.

"You let us in and we'll tell you everything."

Vlad laughed and then frowned, leaning down to my level. I growled at him...
I saw something flash in his eyes, I don't know what it was but it wasn't a good feeling.

"Why here? I don't need the bad luck you carry on within yourself."

"Excuse me? Bad luck?"
I snapped at him again. I huffed and held onto Phantom's hand. He seem to scale me up and down repeatedly.

"You didn't hear?" He asked opening the door more. He hummed in thought before he sighed.
".....I guess you could stay here for a few days."

I looked at him with disbelief, and Phantom did the same before shaking it off, stepping in as he settled me down. I looked around again, getting familiar vibes, I shivered, as he directed us- or more like Phantom to his living-room.
Vlad sat down in his seat and Phantom in the other, he won't let me go. I didn't mind, it made me feel safe and confident. I wrap my arms around his neck, smiling against the crook of his neck. The unsettling silence made me shift uncomfortably on Phantom's lap. He seems to have sensed my concern and placed his hand on my hip, giving it a light squeeze. I relaxed a bit as Vlad finally broke the silence. 

"So how did you do it?"
He asked, crossing his legs and never leaving his eyes on us, but especially me. I don't know why, I'm confused and terrified, he was creeping me out... I tried looking away but I felt his eyes glued on me. I shifted again, I heard Phantom growling under his breathe before speaking up.

"I can't really explain it. Since we had the 'Dream Catcher' incident, I was able to separate myself from my human counter but not without hurting him."
He spoke, I love when he talks all serious like. I nodded unconsciously, a small smile on my face as I shoot him a small 'it's okay'. He smiled a bit at me before turning back to Vlad.

"What have we not be hearing?"
Phantom asked as Vlad took a sip of his chocolate. I hear my stomach growl, I just noticed I was hungry.

"Have you noticed the increase of activity in ghost, and near everywhere you are?"

That seemed like a very specific but I'm not quite sure as I'm not the one who fights anymore. But I am sure to completely have noticed the lack of the presence of my lover. I answered a 'yeah' before Phantom could've respond. Vlad nodded in agreement as he leaned forward.

"You see Daniel," He paused, wow, way to make it dramatic. "...You're the cause of it."

My eyes widened, I gasped. That can't be true!

"Vlad, why are you blaming Danny?"
Phantom asked, his voice was cold. Vlad laughed before he stopped, his smile fading into a more serious look.

"Isn't he the one carrying a ghost spawn?"
He asked, a dead cold stare was shot my way. My breathe hitched in my throat; I don't now why but I busted in tears, fat hot tears running down my cheeks, I bit my lip, I certainly didn't want to cry in front of my rival. I swallowed my pride and heart down my throat, it hurt me.
