Chapter Seven (Jack's POV)

"Where are we going?" I laughed as Hiccup dragged me by the hand out the door. "Picnic!" Hiccup said back to me. People looked as us weird, or rather, Hiccup weird, because he was dragging an invisible thing. He started picking up the pace, and I adjusted so we ran side by side. I tripped over a root in the woods and sent both of us sprawling, him on top of me. "Sorry, Hic," I said, through my giggles. He was laughing too, and said, "Let's have our picnic here," and so we did.

I had not realized Hiccup had two sandwiches on him (only slightly smushed). Even though I could not taste it, I ate it because Hiccup made it. In the sunlight streaming through the trees, I noticed something.

"Hey, Hiccup." "Yeah?" "You're hot." He snorted. "Well, then." "I mean, you were always attractive, but now I'm fearing for my title as 'Hottest in the Relationship,'" I joked. "Oh, come off it," he laughed, throwing snow on me. I shrugged.

(Hiccup's POV)

A few weeks have gone by, weeks made up of our precious little moments. Cuddling, teasing, snowball fights (though less often now because the snow was melting), and of course many kisses (and a little farther than kisses *wink wink*). It was fantastic in every way, but Jack had gotten me thinking, that day when he told me that I looked different. He looks exactly like he did all those weeks ago when he died. No change, his hair hasn't even grown.

So what if he'll never age? Never change? Jack will be this invisible 16-almost-17 year old while I grow up and get old. I mean, not to sound bitter.

So I asked him one day. He was still asleep, and I was sitting up on the couch (we had fallen asleep there). "Jack," I said when he finally woke up. "Morning, Hic. What's up?" he yawned, running his hands through his hair (he was still the 'Hottest in the Relationship'). "I was thinking...do you age?" I asked. He looked at me, before slowly shaking his head. "No, I'll be like this forever." I nodded. "So, will-will I..." He ran both his hands through his hair like he did when he was upset. "Yeah, you'll...stop being like this, and I won't..." I had made him upset. I had made myself upset. "Let's not think about that right now," I brightened up, "what's the agenda for today?"

We walked outside, not really having an idea of where we were going. "Hey," I said, tugging on his sleeve, "let's visit Toothless!" He returned the tug, and agreed. We directed our wandering towards where Toothless usually slept.

"Toothless!" we called when we entered the clearing. The dragon was not there at the moment, he was probably off flying. "Toothless!" I called again before we heard the beating of giant reptilian wings. "Hey Toothless, I've missed you!" Jack said, patting the dragon on the head. Toothless purred like a cat.

With Jack's help, we wrestled the saddles onto Toothless's back before settling into them and kicking off. I rode in front (it was /my/ dragon), and Jack, even though it was not necessary to him staying aboard, wrapped his arms around me. Toothless did loops and dives, and we were flying quite fast until a scream shattered the air. We heard it and stopped, scanning to see where it had sounded from.

It came from our village. I directed Toothless towards it, so we hovered slightly out of sight but could still see. It was a terrible sight. The person who had screamed was not in fact the one hurt, but her mother. The woman looked down at her child's limp body lying in the melting snow. I heard Jack gasp right near my ear, and I soon saw what in particular he was shocked by.

In the whiteness of the snow was written (in the girl's blood), 'Jack Frost'.

Sorry it was short. Will get to the next chapter soon. Thanks for sticking with me!
