Learning Italian

   I'm not sure whether this'll be a solangelo one-shot book or not...

Will and Nico were sitting at a table they had set up in the big house (It was too hard to study anywhere else because of the noise.) with flash cards in front of them. Will had been trying to learn Italian for a long time now, and he decided it would work better if Nico helped him since Nico was Italian himself.

Nico picked up a different flashcard right as Piper walked in.

"Oh, hi guys."

"Hi, Piper." Will and Nico said in unison.

"What're you doing?"

"I'm trying to teach Will Italian."

"How's it going?"

Will said, "Fine," at the same time Nico said, "Will sucks at it." Piper chuckled.

"Hey!" Will glared at the other boy.

"It's true!"

Will rolled his eyes. "Piper, what're you doing here?"

"Someone replaced Drew's makeup with random stuff. I have to put a notice up."

"Really?" Will asked. Nico was staring at his lap.

"Yeah. They haven't figured out who did it yet, though." She was staring right at Nico. "But, just to put it out there, I wouldn't mind if we never find it." Nico grinned.

Will looked oblivious. "Well, do we have a guess to who it is?"

Piper tore her gaze away from Nico. "I haven't got a clue." Nico's grin got larger.

Piper jogged up the stairs, leaving Will and Nico alone again.

"Who do you think did it?"

"I um... I've got an idea..."

"Who? Please tell me."

"You promise you won't tell anyone?"

"I promise..." Will said, getting suspicious.

"Good." Nico said. "Anyway, I did it."

Will grinned.

"Alright. Now, let's get back to teaching you Italian."

"Okay."

"What does the phrase, 'tu sei il mio soldatino' mean in English?"

"You... are my... um... I don't know the last one."

"Soldatino means soldier."

Will frowned. "That sounds like it should be a song."

Nico looked down. "It is."

"Oh. Okay."

Nico raised an eyebrow. "What have you learned that's not on these cards?"

"You'll see."

"Okay.... Go ahead." Nico gestured for Will to continue.

Will cleared his throat and then said, "Ti amo."

Nico shook his head. "I don't think that means what you think it means."

Will frowned. "What did I say?"

"You said 'I love you.'" Nico said.

Will smiled. "Then I said exactly what I meant to say."
