luke was walking michael back to his apartment, laughing and joking around with him along the way. he loved to see the purple haired boy laugh. it was a warm and happy sight. he sometimes hates to imagine how sad and heartbroken he'll feel once all of this was over and luke was gone. luke, of course, couldn't stay here or with him forever.

as they walked, they talked and talked, getting closer to michael's apartment. they were just reaching the building before michael started to open up more about himself.

"my brother...was an amazing person. he was definitely the better brother. smart, amazing grades, athlete, had a wonderful girlfriend...sometimes i felt envious of him. because of this, i got into a lot of fights with him." michael kicked the dirt, sighing. luke listened to him intently. "but...i regret it. i regret feeling such ways towards him. i regret all the fights i caused and got into with him, i regret not having many good moments to share with him." michael looked as if he were about to start crying.  "our last fight...our last fight never truly had a conclusion."

luke sighed and took michael's hand into his, squeezing it gently. "you don't have to continue if you don't want to..." michael shook his head and sighed. "it's okay, i can continue." luke pursed his lips and nodded. "alright."

"that night...he went out with his girlfriend, and a few hours later...we got a call from the police telling us that he had gotten into an accident." michael took a deep breath. "he passed away in the hospital."

"i'm so sorry to hear that, michael. are you okay, though?"

michael nodded. "yeah, i've been on medication, though. but i'm doing well."

luke stopped walking once they got into his apartment and turned to face michael. he soon wrapped his arms around him, hugging him tightly. michael let out a quiet sob and hugged luke back.

for the first time in many years, he felt comforted. he felt at home
