T W E N T Y - E I G H T

All this effort is for you.

All I strive for is you.

All I wish for is you.

"That's absurd," spoke Hibiki, casting a cold glare Akihito's way.

"It's true!" He remarked. "In any case, who are you? We've never met, let alone hanging around Y/N."

"You're a paranoid idiot," he fired back, "you think a silly dream can magically tell you your fate?"

"That's enough!" You cut in. "I am sick and tired of hearing you fight. Just be quiet."

"Y-Y/N, how are you so calm about this whole situation?!"

"I honestly don't know." You sighed. "All I want is to go home and never wake up."

"Mistress, please do not say--"

"Please, stop calling me that."

In a state of disarray and concealed secrets, you felt absolutely nothing. Being apathetic towards everything now was your defense mechanism. Once this was over, you were ready to seal the deal.

An irreversible deal.

You let out a dry chuckle, "I don't even know why I even came here. I should have just stayed home and--"

A pair of arms suddenly wrapped around your waist. You stiffened at the sudden intimate contact. Suzuki had embraced you in tight hug.

"Lady Serenity," she softly whispered, "do you really not remember us?"

In that moment, a chord inside of you snapped. You weren't in control anymore. You were being taken over by a compelling force.

"I-I..." You stuttered out before falling limp.

"Y/N!" Akihito cried.

He carefully pulled you into his chest, checking your arm for a pulse.

"W-Wake up, Y/N."

He lightly shook you but to no avail.

"Y-Y/N..."

He locked eyes with both Hibiki and Suzuki, fire burning in them.

"What happened to her!?"

"We're just as confused as you are."

He grit his teeth, "If she doesn't wake up I'll--"

"Akihito," your voice cut in.

"Oh my god, Y/N."

Your lips curled into a smile, "Forgive me but the girl you are looking for is gone."

"W-What?"

"I am the goddess Serenity."

I followed silently behind Yato along with Hiyori until I realized something.

"Merry Christmas! No wonder you guys are so quiet. I didn't mean to blow it off," I rambled.
