Y/N P.O.V

It was sickening.

You saw a group of phantoms all fusing together. It became pitch black and a soon a hoard of eyeballs started looking at both of you.

"This... can't be."

You turned to Yukine and he screamed. "Let's get out of here!"

He was absolutely terrified, and you were too. He pulled on your arm and began searching for a way out of your house.

"Y/N! Where's the nearest door?"

"I–I..."

You thought about running but something stopped you. All your life you've done nothing but run away from your problems. You never took action against anything or anyone.

You cannot keep living like this.

Yukine shouldn't be in this mess, your mess. He shouldn't get devoured by these phantoms, if anyone it should be you.

It finally came down to this.

There's only one thing to do.

"Yukine, I'm sorry," You said quietly.

"Eh? Y/N what are talking about?" He asked anxiously.

"Go find Yato. Now. Don't worry about me I'll be fine. Just go save yourself and I'll take care of these phantoms! Okay?" You said with your voice strained, one more word and you knew you would cry.

Yukine's P.O.V

"No, Y/N. I'm not leaving you behind. Those phantoms are too dangerous!" I said with worry in my voice.

She turned to me and smiled, sad like, as if this was the last time I was going see her again. "Yukine, without Yato here we cannot do much and you know it. Please, get away while you still can. I promise I'll be all right!" She stuck out her pinky and I connected mine with hers.

"I'll be back soon, I promise!"

I drew a line between her and the phantoms, hopefully it would last long enough.

"Be careful. Yato and I will be back ASAP I swear!" I yelled as I ran out the door.

"Thank you, Yukine..." I heard her mumble as she smiled and waved, tears running down her cheeks.

Yato's P.O.V

Daikoku and I played Poker in an attempt to cure our boredom. Hiyori and Kofuku were eating snacks and talking when Yukine came rushing through the door.

"Yukki, you're back!" Kofuku said leaping over the table to hug him.

"Welcome back, Yukine-kun!" Hiyori greeted him.

He quickly said hello and turned to me "Yato, we have to–!" He started but I cut him off.

"Where have you been, you little freeloader? Do you know what time it is!?" I shouted.

"I–It's urgent," He stuttered.

"Don't interrupt. Who is the one who named you and brought you here from Far Shore, eh?"

"Yato, this isn't the time to--"

"You should show some respect to your master!"
