We landed infront of a small cute house. He lead me to the door which he opened for me "you can sleep in the room..." He said sweetly entering the house also. "No. I'll sleep on the couch... It is your house thank you for letting me stay here..." I said rubbing my arm awkwardly.
"Why did you want to leave?" He asked skeptically "I'll explain later... Would you want me to make some tea?" I asked he smiled "no, I'll make the tea go sit..." He replied. I waited for a while in the sitting room staring at all the books he had. They were all mostly potions and defense against the dark arts books.
Not very many muggle books, I sighed intently and sunk into the soft chair. 'How will I tell Severus?' I thought biting my lip lightly he then entered the room with a tea tray.
"What is it?" He asked trying to look right through me. I tried not to make eye contact knowing Severus was a talented occulmens. "It's nothing... Just a bit tired..." I said fake yawning "yes... Well have some tea..." He said skeptically.
I fake sipped my tea lightly knowing he put something in it. "Why was it that you wanted to leave?" He asked an eyebrow raised "I just felt uncomfortable in the situation I was in..." I said honestly not lying but not telling the full truth.
He then took a long sip of his hot tea "Dumbledore is stopping by tomorrow to see you..." He said after a long interval of silence "oh really? Hmm..." I said pondering his comment "I better get to sleep..." I added after another long torturing silence. "Yes, here" he got up and left the room. He then reappeared holding a few pillows and blankets he set them next to me.
"The bathroom is down the hall if you'd like to change... If you need anything I'll be in my room..." He said walking silently away. I sat awkwardly for a few minutes I then got up and ran my fingers across all the book titles he had "advance potion making" read a title "defense against the dark arts" read another I then stopped when I saw an intriguing book "Dracula" by bram stoker.
I slid it out from the shelf and eagerly read the back it sounded very interesting. That night I began reading Dracula since my sister hadn't owned many muggle books... Or any books at that. I fell asleep half way through the book exhausted after the long day.
I woke up to the whistle of the kettle I bolted up and panted heavily knowing that I had a bad dream... I just can never remember any of them. I rubbed my eyes and sat up I heard footsteps come into the room "oh... Your up..." Snape said rather bitter "yes... What's going on today?" I asked yawning "Albus Dumbledore would like to speak with you..." Snape said emotionless.
"Oh... alright! When will he-" then the doorbell rang. Snape walked over and opened the door there stood the tall slender white bearded figure I knew to be Albus Dumbledore. "Hello, sir! It's good to see you again" I said standing up quickly and going over to shake his hand.
"Yes... The feelings mutual... I need to discuss something with you Miss (L/N)" he said calmly with a short sweet smile "yes anything! would you care to come in and have some tea?" I asked I looked up at Severus who seemed very annoyed.
"Why yes. Thank you. It won't be long" We sat on the sofa while sipping our tea. Severus sat next to me closely and Dumbledore across from us in the small cushioned chair. "I would like to offer you a teaching position... Before you say anything you'll just be assisting. We need more protections at Hogwarts" he said getting to the point.
"Well... I don't know professor... I got out of the job because I wasn't... Er, qualified enough" I said trying to think of an excuse "miss (L/N) it's for the protection of the students... With Voldemort being back I need all the help from the order I can get" he said smiling.
I sighed intently "sure... Why not? Who will I be assisting?" I said rubbing my temple " you will be assisting Severus in potions" Dumbledore says standing to leave "I have said all I have to... Good evening to you both! I am looking forward to seeing you Professor (L/N)" Dumbledore said with a small wink leaving the house.
Severus smirked evilly "you lied to his face miss (L/N)" I blushed and turned towards him "shut up..." I said standing " Why did you leave Sirius blacks home?" He asked still smirking " I told you.." I said rubbing my arm "you told me half the truth" he said standing towering over me.
"I think you left because that hound was making unwanted advances towards you" he said stepping towards me tears prickled my eyes. He knew, "you're an asshole." I said a tear slowly sliding down my face he then embraced me in a hug. "Only to those I like" he said holding me close.

Summer went by quickly, Severus and I have gotten closer and bonded during multiple different occasions. Whether we went out or simply played chess I began falling for him which was a curse... He and I apparated in hogsmeade with our luggage so we would be close enough to walk to Hogwarts.
The walk was quiet Sybil Trewalnry passed us and I decided to call out to her "Good morning Sybil! how was your summer?" I asked sweetly she glanced at me happily flashing a smile then towards Severus and glared.
She then continued walking towards Hogwarts "what was that about?" I asked as a cool gust of wind blew my hair around. "Even though Albus trusts me, fellow co workers do not" he said coldy. I bit my lip trying not to speak out of impulse I linked my arms around his tightly. He didn't seem to mind, the walk was silent the hole way to the wizarding school.
Once we got there Snape and I immediately headed towards our rooms. We shared a living room but the rooms were separate. His room was right next to mine. After unpacking we made our way towards the great hall "what happened when we were in school?" I asked trying to pry the answer out of him.
"I'll tell you later" he said as we sat down next to each other at the staff table. I sighed intently and nervously " this year... It will be different" I said Snape then held my hand lightly "oh course it will because I'm here with you..." He said coldly but sweetly.
