Eclipse: Chapter 5: Back Home..

Jay didn't  know that I had already done what he had asked me to do so long ago. Jay didn't know that Zeanna and I were a couple now just as he and Jaylyn were, he was simply trying to be helpful. And in some sense he was ... in his own weird Jay way.

I stood up quietly taking, heed to not step on Arcosine as I left. The tattoo on his chest cast a dark blue light around the room as I walked out.

I quietly walked past the girls room and onto the upper deck where I knew Zeanna would be, she sat, slumped against the mast. Twirling water around and around her hands as the stars reflected off of it.

Me: Goodmorning starlight.

She smiled as I sat down next to her

Zeanna: Good morning

We sat in silence for a while, simply taking in the beauty of the water Zeanna had created.

Me: I was talking to Jay ...

The water slipped slightly in Zeanna's palm ...

Zeanna : ...yes?

Her voice didn't sound scared but cautious

Me: He was asking whether or not I had told you that I like you.

Zeanna nodded

Zeanna: What did you say?

The water slipped again

Me: I didn't tell him ... not until you're ready ...

Zeanna smiled and laid her head on my shoulder

Zeanna: Thankyou Zane ... it's just ... now that I see how Jay and Jaylyn act ... and how the others treat them .. I don't want them to think of you differently because of me ... does that make sense?

I twisted my hand around hers freezing the ice into a glowing white orb.

Me: yes ... it makes all the sense in the world

I kissed her smiling as I let go

Me: Love you Zeanna.

Zeanna: Love you too Zane.

And everything was silent, as the moon crept up over the lip of the ocean.

Arcosine Pov-

I watched intrigued as the two looked out at the sun rising over the ocean. Setting an orange glow on the waves. I sighed as quietly as possible. We were merely 9 hours away from our destination and I couldn't help but feel worried about what we would see when we got there. Would  we be too late? Would everything and everyone be dead from the actions of the false king? I shivered. It was unbearable to think about. I looked back at Zeanna and her counterpart. They seemed so happy at such a dire time. I couldn't understand the logic in it! If their side was dying would they be acting this way?

Would they feel such feelings?

If they could only see it now.. would they think to smile?

I turned around, silently walking back I into the hull. A new sense of confusion and yet, a mountain of understanding .

I walked into the room where the others were breathing heavily. Kai was sleeping on his stomach, Cole with his legs sticking out over the edge of the bed. With all the time I had spent with them ... they were nothing like I would have been expecting them to be.

If Arconine Z had asked me on the dark island what I had been expecting to find from the "originals" as we called them back home ... I don't know what I would have said... disrespectful, unloving, rude ... nothing to what I found now.
