Once we arrived, Mother thanked the man and we walked into our house. I was dead set on not coming to Korea a couple months back, but to be honest—the place wasn't half as bad as I expected it to be.
It was huge, and already fully furnished. I told my mother that I'd be upstairs, and walked away. When I walked across the living room, I was quite impressed. It was modern and beautiful, the dream living room for anyone.
My room was also quite cute and cozy. As I hopped onto my bed, I realized that this whole thing maybe didn't have to be so bad.
I was awoken the obnoxious sound of the alarm clock going off. Since it was the first day of school today, I was very nervous. I hoped that they would be willing to accept me.
The school had a uniform, so I quickly put it on after taking a shower and brushing my teeth. I put on makeup, and did my hair in light curls. "Dayum, I look pretty good in a uniform!" I said to myself, looking at my reflection in the mirror.
I walked down the stairs, where my mother greeted me. "Did you sleep well, honey?" She smiled.
"You're in a better mood than usual, Mother." I said.
"Well the house is very beautiful. The kitchen too."
"I guess it is."
"Now, Rose. You have to go! Or you'll be late. Go on." She handed me my lunchbox and I ran outside, closing the door behind me and breathing in the fresh smell of morning dew.
After about 5 minutes, I'd already arrived at the gate of the school. The bell rang just in time as I stepped into the building.
