Chapter 21

-Louis

I pull Zayn towards the table and we settle next to each other. Sophia looks at him with disgust while her brat of a daughter, Isabelle gives him a fascinated grin.

"I didn't know you had another son." I cut in before Dad could say anything.

"No, Zayn is my boyfriend." Zayn waves to Sophia then she looks back at Dad.

"Mum, look at his piercings! It's so spooky!"

"That's rude."

"No, it's fine. Most people are creeped out by my piercings." I rub Zayn's leg then he smiles back at me.

"This chicken is good, Sophia. You did a great job!" Dad kisses that devil on the cheek.

"I think it taste like nails and cat hair." I can hear Harry mutter.

"What was that Harry?" Dad gives Harry a warning look then he quickly straightens up and smiles.

"I said that this makes me think of Lucky Charms because-" He looks around in a panic.

"It's magically delicious? Yeah! They're magically delicious!" He nods and go back to picking at it.

"So, Zayn? How many piercings do you have?" Zayn sets his fork down then clears his throat.

"Well, I have a lot." He laughs a bit while Sophia looks back at Dad and frowns.

-Zayn

"You let your son date a punk like that?" Sophia leans over and whispers to Liam. I look around and try to pretend that I don't hear them obviously talking about me.

"Are you sure he has a future?" I slam my fork down on the plate and get up.

"If you can't accept who I am, then maybe I should leave. I can't change who I am for a bunch of pricks that don't do shit for me! I'm done trying to please you, Mr. Payne! I've tried too hard and I'm over it." I turn to Louis with a small grin.

"I'll see you later, Louis." I show myself out the door and leave the household in silence.

-Louis

I look back at Dad then Sophia. I can see she's already snickering and Dad's not doing anything about it.

"Dad?" I give me a look but all he does is shrug.

"Fine then." I throw my napkin on my plate and walk out the door to find Zayn. I open the door to see Zayn sitting on the curb with his head in his hands. I walk over to him then kiss him on the cheek. He turns to face with me but I could see his eye liner running down his face from crying.

"Baby, I'm so sorry." He pulls me into a hug.

"It's okay."

"I thought I was really opening up to your Dad. Was it just a lie?" He pulls away from me and looks at his hands.

"I know he does. It's just that stupid bitch that's brainwashing him." He laughs a little.

"Thank you." I look at him confused.

"For what?" He puts his hand on my face.

"Coming after me and making me feel better." I giggle and look into his eyes that are being lightened up by the moon.

"Piercings or no piercings, I love you just the way you are." I smile back at him.

"How much?" He jokes and grins.

"To the moon and back." I laugh and kiss him then we lay back into the lawn and look at the stars.

Moments like these make me feel that anything is possible.
