C is for Cassandra

The horned witch scowled at the image before her in the crystal ball. Her new vessel had befriended a Lusian. Inhabitants of Lusians could easily detect Cassandra's magic, and they didn't mind interfering as they did at the Macabre Ball. "This should get interesting." Cassandra placed the orb in its place on a shelf beside other enchanted items.

In thought, she began pacing the algae covered floor of the sea cave as angry waves crashed against its entrance. "So, how do you plan on possessing this one? With Baltha around, I doubt your spirit will even reach the girl," chimed a smug voice.

Cassandra glared at the translucent figure emerging from the dark shadows of the cave. "And yet they never saved you." Peri Tyler's spirit glided across the cave to stand before Cassandra. Her dark hair waving about her face as if she were submerged in water. The poor girl still wore her ball gown from the night she died, along with shackles and chains that kept her prisoner in the witch's den.

"This one is different. Her magic runs deep and is connected to the Ancient Ones. One like her cannot be overtaken as easily. Beware, Horned Witch, she will be the key to either your revenge, or your undoing."

Cassandra pushed her white hair from her face as her eyebrows knit in frustration, "I will not be refused my revenge. My father will pay for what he's done, no matter how many lives I have to take. I will not be stopped by a little girl."

Peri's spirit hovered above the stone floor making her chains rattle, "And I shall be here to watch you fail." Cassandra growled in anger before waving her hand through the air making static spark the atmosphere. The chains tightened on Peri's shackles pulling her back into the darkness of the cave.

"I will not fail this time."
