Writer of adventure, sci-fi and historical fiction.
For adventure, try 'V for Victory - Comet' set in 1936, following the adventures of a 14 year old trying to track down those responsible for kidnapping his father while the threat of the second world war looms ever larger.
For a hard Sci-Fi / Dystopia read, try 'A Country Life', where a war is being waged to get access to once-lost technology in a post-apocalypse feudal Britain, where castles and swords are once more the power base of rule.
For general genre-crossing adventure, try 'The Shipping Forecast' which sets a different story in each of the UK Shipping Forecast areas across the last few hundred years and into the future. For extra fun, try to spot the links between each story...
There are also a few sci-fi shorts, and even a horror or two. I will try to update more regularly now that winter is coming.

Most influential reading:
'The Count of Monte Cristo' by Alexander Dumas - possibly the best revenge story ever.
'A Fire Upon the Deep' and 'A Deepness in the Sky' by Vernor Vinge - these epic hard sci-fi stories are well worth a read, even if you're not into sci-fi, as the characters and settings are done to perfection. Deepness is astonishingly good, and pulls off the trick of making the reader care deeply for spiders!
Aubrey/Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian - superb writing that I can loose myself in within seconds of opening any one of the 20 completed novels in the series. My favourite would be 'Desolation Island', for reasons I can't quite put my finger on.
Culture series by Iain M Banks, for bringing us all the highest of high tech in spaceships and AI, and of course those snarky, show-off Rapid Offensive Units. His universe is full of ideas, galaxy-spanning technology, nirvana, and sudden, gruesome endings that always surprise and delight.

At the age of nineteen, suffering from an insatiable sense of adventure, I left my home on the west coast of Scotland and travelled to London. It was my intention to write songs/ lyrics and stories for children, but a series of unexpected circumstances led me off in a completely different direction.
Now, following a Long happy marriage, a bunch of decent kids and an award winning career in the music industry, I have finally found time to write again.
'Search for the sunlight,' my first novel, is a unique and lightly humorous adventure. The story is aimed at both young adults and those of us who are struggling to grow up.
The peculiar, sometimes bizarre, characters and locations that appear in the book, are loosely based on old school friends and the places we used to frequent during my privileged childhood days on the beautiful west coast. (should any of you recognise yourselves, then I hope you're suitably offended!)
I am presently working on a sequel to 'Search for the Sunlight' - working title - 'Beyond the Underworld.' I also have several other unrelated works in various stages of completion, not least, 'The Adventures of Blenkinsop's Frog.' This is a tale about a frog who, with the aid of a pair of specially designed, re-loadable exploding boots, finds himself able to jump medal winning distances. The trouble is, he's never sure where the next explosion will take him! But that's a story for another day.
In the meantime, watch out for 'The Treewoods' in:
'Search for the Sunlight,' and the sequel, 'Beyond the Underworld.'
I hope they make you smile.

Black eyes aren't fun. I plan to stay indoors for the next few months until this one fades away.
What will I do with myself? I think I'll use the time to share the story about my eye... and my life.ম
Hi guys!❤
Meet me, the evergreen teenager at heart... Even if not by years anymore😕...
Love to read and analyse... Recently got inspired to express the musings of my soul... to the folks who roams around the Web ...
Hope some of them will hear those careless whispers!☺ম
I was born in the early eighties, and I grew up wearing colorful lycra turtlenecks - 'til the day grunge (it's music) saved me.
Like many, I was bullied in high school, so, like many, I started drinking and vandalizing innocent mailboxes.
Luckily, I eventually made some friends. With them, I kept drinking but found less violent hobbies (jigsaw puzzles, going to the zoo, and so on).
But I always liked to write. At first, I wrote in French. Later, I still wrote in French, but better. Now, I'm giving it a shot in another language, because I've always liked challenges (once, I stopped eating baguettes for a whole week!).
I'm writing about pirates, because my story about a kid finding out he was a wizard was stolen before I even started it.
