~John's POV~

     7:45am

My alarm went off. First day of sophomore year. Lexi didn't sleep with me last night.(I don't mean it that way guys!) Pretty bummed about that but I didn't want to push it. I threw on some skinny jeans and a TMNT shirt. I walked into the bathroom and found a note on the sink.

I had class at 7:30. I'll be back around 10. Love you! ♡ - Lex

I sighed dreamily at his note and started to work on my hair. After about 5 minutes I got it into a good ponytail. I also brushed my teeth. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed my backpack. I quickly made myself a bagel, threw on my new green converse, and headed out for class.

     8:03am

I ran out the door and started for American history. When I got there I looked around. There was only 4 people. I checked the time on my phone.

     8:12am

     Class started at 8:20.

My favorite teacher, Mr Washington, Jefferson, Eliza, and someone hidden by their hoodie and their laptop were the only ones there. I walked over to the hidden person. Alex.

"Alex?" I sweetly asked. I pushed his laptop screen down a bit so I could see him. He didn't look up.

"Hi babe." He said quickly. He kept typing.

"I didn't know we had this class together." I laughed, sitting next to him.

"Mmhm." I saw his tongue peeking out of his mouth. He's so cute. I decided to leave him to his work, whatever it was.

Eventually everyone else showed up. In the class was Peggy, Angelica, James Madison, Lafayette, Herc, Burr, "King" George, Samuel Seabury, Charles Lee, John Jay, Thomas Paine and Maria Reynolds. Everyone in the room had their own friend groups and sat together. Except Seabury.
He sat in the back corner.

"Alright everyone, welcome to American History. I'm Mr. Washington. A lot of you had me last year but we have some freshman and a new student who is a sophomore here." He motioned for the new students to come to the front.

"This is Maria Reynolds, Peggy Schuyler, Samuel Seabury, and Alexander Hamilton." Washington pointed to each one as he said their names.

"Which ones the sophomore? They're all really short." Lee said, his feet on the empty desk in front of him and a pencil hanging out of his mouth. I watched Alexander's hands curl into fists.

"Alexander here is our sophomore." Washington said politely. "I can already tell he's going to be a great student." He smiled at Alex. He then gestured for them to sit down and we started our lesson. We were staring off with right after the revolutionary war. He started talking but I zoned out, staring at Alex.

"And then Daveed Diggs came home from France. Chris Jackson asked him to be his secretary of state. Lin-Manuel Miranda was secretary of Treasury."

Alex's face was glowing. He really did love history. I zoned out again, staring at Alex, again.

A few minutes later I was snapped back to reality. "He was wrong! Why should they have had to pay the northern debt? Their debts were paid!"

"Because the north couldn't do it on their own of course! The south needed to help their neighbors and be nice!" Alexander yelled back at Jefferson. I chuckled. He sounded like a kid.
