Eden walked into the ballroom, she made her way up the large mahogany staircase and over to a white column on the balcony then leaned against it, looking over on the crowd. Eden smoothed down her straight black halter dress and crossed her arms across her dress. Aaliyah was late, and Eden was questioning if Aaliyah was even going to show up. They had just had their first fight earlier that day, courtesy of Circe. All the girls of the compound were in attendance, everyone was wearing colorful gowns. Eden being the only one in black, but she liked standing out so she didn't mind. The live band was loud but not loud enough to drown out all conversation. Eden watched her Elites spin around the room with each other, they were all laughing and having an all around great time. If only that was me... Eden wished regretfully. Eden was so lost in thought that she hardly heard all the gasps.

"What..?" She whispered as she swung her head to the entrance of the room. Then Eden saw the cause of the commotion. Aaliyah. Aaliyah was wearing the most beautiful red ball gown, it made Aaliyah look like a goddess.

"My date has finally arrived, late as usual," Eden announced loudly. The entire room burst out laughing and Aaliyah blushed. Aaliyah started walking up and over to Eden.

"You could be more subtle," Aaliyah said when she had walked up the stairs and reached Eden.

"Why would I want that darling?" Eden asked as she wrapped her arms around Aaliyah's waist.

"I don't know," Aaliyah said right before kissing Eden.

"Dance with me?" Eden asked when she pulled away softly. Aaliyah nodded and Eden led her down to the dance floor. Eden nodded to the band and they started playing a slow waltz, the floor cleared and the compound stood watching from the perimeter. As Eden was swaying with Aaliyah's head on her shoulder she saw Emily blinking tears out of her eyes. That old romantic. Eden thought with a laugh.

"Aaliyah. I want you to know you've changed me for the better and that Emily was actually right." Eden whispered into Aaliyah's ear. Aaliyah pulled her head off of Eden's shoulder.

"What do you mean?" Aaliyah asked.

"My true love and soulmate did come from Ethan, from his genetic material anyway. The prophecy wasn't about him. It was about his daughter. A small detail that, I have a feeling Emily knew the whole time." Eden stated.

"Me? It was about me?" Aaliyah asked in disbelief.

"Yes darling, it was always about you," Eden said with a small chuckle.

"Well then, I'm glad that I can fulfill," Aaliyah nestled her head slightly.

"Me too," Eden whispered. The song ended with their dance, Eden and Aaliyah moved off the dance floor as the rest of the girls started dancing to an upbeat pop song. The pair walked over to the bar and Eden got a fruity pink drink. Aaliyah laughed as they walked up to the outside balcony that overlooked the gardens. The cool night air bit at the girl's shoulders as they stepped through the glass doors, hand in hand as they usually were whenever they walked.

"Aaliyah do you like it here?" Eden asked when the doors closed behind them.

"Yes Eden, I do. Although I've always wanted to travel the world, but I am content to live here with you." Aaliyah answered. Aaliyah leaned against Eden's side and Eden wrapped her arm around Aaliyah. They watched the moon rise higher into the sky together.

When the noise of the party had died down, Eden and Aaliyah headed inside. Eden clapped her hands and the music stopped, everyone looked up at Eden.

"Goodnight Ladies!" Eden called down to the compound. A chorus of goodnights echoed back. Eden closed her hand around Aaliyah's and lead Aaliyah back to their rooms. They made small talk as they wound about the hall ways.

"So I guess we should call it a night... I had fun, Aaliyah. Thank you for everything." Eden said softly when they had reached Aaliyah's room.

"You really think that I'm going to let you leave that easily?" Aaliyah asked as she pushed Eden up aginst the door, pinning Eden in place and dragging her delicate hands along Eden's waist.

"Aaliyah, are you trying to seduce me into making bad decisions?" Eden asked jokingly.

"No, I'm trying to dominate you into making bad decisions." Aaliyah joked as she brushed her lips against Eden's.

"Please, we both know that's not your place," Edem said as she lifted Aaliyah up and Aaliyah wrapped her legs around Eden's waist. Eden carried Aaliyah to her bed, closing the door behind them. Eden gently set Aaliyah down and stood over her.

"Are you going to join me?" Aaliyah asked as she wriggled her head onto the pillow.

"Not yet..." Eden said as walked to the end of the bed and untied her dress, letting it fall around her ankles before stepping out of it, her body already growing warm in anticipation.

"Please. You wouldn't deny me. I know that you're already hot and bothered. Just give into your desire." Aaliyah moaned as she pulled her giant red dress off and threw it on the ground. Eden slowly walked over to the side of the bed Aaliyah was on. Aaliyah offered out her left hand, the ring Eden had given her sparkling in the moonlight.

"Aaliyah, come run away with me." Eden suddenly asked.

"Are you serious? Eden, this compound is everything you've ever wanted. Why would you ever want to leave it for me?" Aaliyah asked.

"Because I love you. If you won't run away with me then walk with me through the garden. Please?" Eden pleaded.

"Okay, Eden," Aaliyah said sitting up and walking over to Eden's drawers. Aaliyah pulled a black t-shirt and gray sweatpants. Eden pulled on a navy blue and white striped t-shirt dress. They walked hand in hand, fingers intertwined down to the garden. Eden lead Aaliyah down a small path, one Aaliyah had never seen before. The path ended in a secluded circle that was surrounded but bushes. The centerpiece was the statue of Eden that Aaliyah had made, Eden had built a ring around it for the molten rock to flow into. Eden had turned it into a lava fountain. Aaliyah started to tear up when she saw it.

"Eden..." Aaliyah whispered.

"You kept it," Aaliyah whispered.

"Of course I did, how could I not?" Eden said softly. She led Aaliyah over to the small stone bench in front of the statue.

"I've brought you here to tell you something very important." Eden began.

"What is it?" Aaliyah asked curiously.

"Circe challenged me to a duel tomorrow and I accepted. She will kill me within seconds of the duel starting, I'm sure of this. I'm so sorry Aaliyah." Eden explained as she began to get misty eyed.

"Why would you duel her?" Aaliyah asked sadly.

"For you. She wanted to take you away from me and a duel was the only way to stop her." Eden explained.

"So when is it? How... how long do we have?" Aaliyah asked gently.

"Sunrise," Eden answered.

"Then you're going to spend your last hours doing everything I ask. Now come back to bed with me Eden." Aaliyah said, pushing back her tears and standing up.

"Yes, ma'am," Eden said as she stood up and took Aaliyah's hand.
