Eden sighed loudly as she fell down on the pillow. She leaned over the adjacent pillow and kissed Aaliyah, savoring the moment and loving every second that she was with Aaliyah.

"That was amazing Aaliyah, I would never have guessed that you had that much stamina," Eden laughed softly.

"I'm glad you think so," Aaliyah whispered back. Eden leaned over and kissed her softly, probably for the millionth time.

"I'm going to so shower, and then I have to go," Aaliyah whispered as she got out of bed and walked into the bathroom. She quickly showered and threw on the white dress that she had been wearing the night before. She walked back over to Eden and kissed her, lingering on her mouth before finally pulling away.

"I'll see you tonight. My room, just after midnight." Eden whispered as she squeezed Aaliyah's ass. Aaliyah quickly left Eden's room and headed back to her's. I'm so not ready for this meeting, hopefully, Emily won't care. She threw her hair up in a ponytail and waited for Emily to arrive so they could discuss how to get around the Elite rules and have Aaliyah fill the hole Emily left.

"Funny. You remind me of someone I used to know," Circe said as she arrived in the doorway.

"Circe!" Eden yelled happily as she ran over and hugged Circe. Circe was Eden's height with deep tan skin just like Eden. The only major difference between the two was that Circe's hair was light brown with blond ends.

"It's been too long, kid," Circe said smiling as she squeezed Eden.

"What are you even doing here?" Eden asked smiling.

"Trying to keep you from making a bad decision. She's mortal Eden, what were you thinking? Or were you letting your downstairs brain think?" Circe hissed.

"It's not like that at all!" Eden hissed, horrified that Circe would even think that. Eden stepped back away from Circe.

"Then what is it like?" Circe asked as she folded her hands over her chest.

"She's amazing, her mind is constantly searching for answers, she makes me feel like  I can let my guard down around her. Even though its so god damn cliché. Circe, now that I'm with her I don't ever want to be without her." Eden said.

"And the sex? Please don't try to tell me that it wasn't part of your reasoning. I know you better than that Eden." Circe sarcastically asked.

"It's so different with her, she understands me. I'm actually happy for once in my life." Eden said softly, she put her head down and glanced up at Circe.

"She's still mortal Eden, she's not one of us, she'll never be. Be with her, I don't care. Just know that she'll eventually die and leave you all alone. Then who'll be there? Me. It's always me Eden. Have your fun now but once it's over when she's over, it's back to the mission. You haven't completely failed me yet." Circe said as she walked closer to Eden. Circe grabbed Eden's chin and pulled it up to look Circe directly in the eye.

"She's not going to die. I'll find something, I have to." Eden promised.

"You've been trying for thousands of years, what makes you think that one girl could change anything? What's so special about her?" Circe questioned as she tightened her grip on Eden.

"I believe that she will be able to find how to extend her own life on her own. She's insanely smart and love is a very powerful thing." Eden answered.

"You think that because she likes you, she can figure out a secret that you have been trying to figure out for years?" Circe barked.

"She has the mark Circe. Aaliyah would have been one of Hecate's chosen." Eden said.

"She has the crescent moon? Where?" Circe asked, suddenly interested.

"Her lower back, although she just thinks that it's a weird birthmark. I haven't corrected her yet, or told her what it really means." Eden said.

"Then you have to let me take her, she needs to learn from someone experienced. Not a replacement whore." Circe said.

"Aaliyah will not be leaving with you. She belongs here." Eden hissed, her mind suddenly dizzy at the thought of Aaliyah leaving her.

"She has no choice, she bears the mark of my mother. She belongs to me." Circe smirked.

"She belongs to no one but herself." Eden retaliated.

"Then we duel at sunrise. It seems the only way to settle this." Circe finalized.

"A duel. How old are you Circe? Do you really want to settle an issue with a duel? This isn't the 1800's!" Eden angrily said.

"Then do you decline my challenge?" Circe smugly said. She already knew that she was going to get exactly what she wanted.

"No," Eden said softly.

"Then I'll see you at dawn, bring Aaliyah too. I'm sure she would love to watch." Circe chuckled. Circe sauntered away after a few stunned seconds from Eden, laughing to herself the entire way.

"Bitch." Eden hissed under her breath when Circe was no longer visible. Eden looked around her room, believing that it was the last day she would ever see. Eden walked over to the large window next to her bed and gently placed her hand on the glass. Eden watched the sun rise higher into the sky as she contemplated what her fate was to be. Circe will kill me, that I have no doubt. She is stronger, older, and more experienced. What have I done? At least I have one more night with my darling Aaliyah. Eden smiled at the thought and walked over to her closet, her clothes her a day old. That's when she spotted her ballgown at the back of her closet. Shit. The ball. It's tonight, she remembered. Aaliyah was her date, and Eden had no doubt that Circe would attend just to piss off Eden.
