Jayn's POV
I sighed weakly as I stared at Seker.
I had never seen him act this way around me. Ever. He seemed terrified of me, almost to the point of tears. I crawled over to him and hugged him, burying my face in his shoulder.
I had never been scared of Seker... He seemed more like a giant teddy bear when he was around me. But... This was scary. I knew he liked me, but I deliberately had been avoiding it because... Because... I was scared.
What would happen if I got too close to the sun?

Seker's POV
Jayn hugged me. He hugged just like his mother. It was warm, and comforting. I let out a small sigh, hesitantly hugging back.
"Jayn, why do you do this to me?"
"What do you mean?"
"Why do you have to be so nice to me...? You make it hard to not like you..."
"Why would you not want to like me?"
"So you can be happy with Kris."
That seemed to baffle him. He didn't say anything.
"Why...?" He said after a while," Don't you want to be happy, too?"
"You're more important."
That seemed to baffle him again.

Jayn's POV
The move I was about to make was foolish, but it actually pained me to see Seker act this way. I pulled away from the hug and kissed him.
This was a real kiss, not like one of those awful kisses I made when I was high. This was the kiss that Kris had taught me to do.
This time, Seker didn't push me away. He kissed right back.
It was soft and loving.
And at that moment, I knew...
I was addicted to his lips.

When he pulled away, I wanted to kiss him again.
Over and over.
I tried to kiss him again, but he wouldn't let me get close enough.
"Seker, will you go out with me?"
"Jayn, you're already dating Kris."
"But... Look, it can be a secret."
I needed those lips all the time. They were more addicting than smoking.
"I'll break up with Kris." I said, looking at him with lustful eyes. I wasn't really looking at him, more at his lips.
"Fine. But I'm not going out with you until you break up with him..."
"Done. " I grabbed my phone and pretended to break up with Kris. There was no way I was going to get beat up over this... Seker's lips were gonna be my dirty little secret.

Seker's POV
I don't know if this is a good idea... Jayn was acting so different now...

He kissed me again, I didn't try to stop him this time. I didn't want to hurt him, so I was gentle each time. He didn't seem to ever want to stop, but I had to pull away for air.
"Jayn, stop." I said, after the fifth time of him kissing me.
"Why?" He whined, draping his body over me dramatically.
"Because I'm tired already." I mumbled.
I don't know if I liked this side of Jayn... It was weird...

It had been a week of us dating, and I was slowly getting used to it.
Jayn and I were sitting on his couch, Jayn's head resting on my shoulder.
"Jayn, I love you..." I murmured softly and kissed the top of his head. He giggled softly.
His phone rang, and he answered it. He quickly put it to his ear.
"Hello?"
Suddenly I saw movement out of the corner of my eye-- coming from the window. I quickly looked over, to see Kris staring at us.
Rage covered his face.
My whole body tensed up.

"Jayn... You never broke up with Kris, did you?" I said weakly. I could feel tears hitting the back of my eyes.
I was just a secondary option.

Jayn's POV
Horror filled me.
How did Kris find out?!
I watched in horror as Kris walked into the house, glaring at Seker.
Seker pulled away from me, not even glancing at me.
"Wait! It's not what it looks like!" I quickly said to Kris-- who was fuming.
"I'll kill you, son of a bitch!" Kris spat at Seker, who just stared at the ground.
"Stop!" I said quickly.
It was time to decide.
Who to choose...?
Kris would beat me up if I chose Seker... But Seker is so nice...
I looked from each of them, I didn't know it would come to this.

"Seker... I'm sorry..." I said softly, hoping he would understand that I was choosing him. He didn't look at me. I could tell he was crying.
"Seker..." I started to say before Kris pushed me down.
"Was this all you?!" He spat.
"Damn, I expected it was that idiot's idea, not yours!"
I cowered away from him, horror on my face.
"Well, it's too late now. I already contacted his damn parents. They know where you are."
Seker's whole body went rigid.
"How could you?!" I snapped, anger filling me. "Kris, that's awful! Look, we're done!"
"Yeah, a little late for that, Jayn." Kris snarled and walked out of the house.
As soon as he walked out, two cars pulled up. And out stepped a blonde man and blonde woman.

Seker tried to dart, his face gave me the answer I needed.
Those were his parents.
The man knocked on the door, and I reluctantly opened it.
"Yes?"
"Hello, young man. I heard that my lost son is here."
I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.
"I'm not sure whom you are referring--"
"His name is Seker Phoa. We've already seen him around these parts. "
I didn't know what to say.
"Please let us look, at least."
"Yes sir..." I mumbled softly. I let them inside, I was scared.
This was all my fault...

Seker's POV
Have you ever been so scared your heart has exploded?
Well, that's how scared I was.
I was hiding in Jayn's room. My whole body was shaking.

Suddenly, the door was burst open and my father was standing in front of me.
I couldn't move. All I could do was stare.
Jayn was standing to the side of him, terrified. He hadn't known I was in the room.
My dad walked up to me, then his hand collided with my cheek. It left a giant red whelp. Tears blossomed in my eyes.
"Get up. You're in huge trouble. "
"Stop!" Jayn said, running and putting himself between my father and I.
"Why should I? He's my child. I'll do what I want to him." Daddy growled.
"That is awful!" Jayn protested. Daddy raised his hand to hit Jayn.
"No!" I shrieked, pushing Jayn out of the way. Daddy's hand collided with my face for a second time. Tears spilled over and I couldn't hold it in anymore.

Jayn was watching me, crying as well.
"Come on. Stop crying, you weakling." Daddy grabbed my arm and yanked me up. I let out a small cry, then he grabbed me by my hair. I went completely still, curling up in a ball. He ripped off my shirt and growled," Take off the bandage. Now." I obeyed, exposing my scars to Jayn and my parents. Daddy pulled out a knife and then stabbed me in the stomach.
My eyes widened.
No.
This can't be happening.

Jayn's POV
I watched in horror as Seker's body hit the ground. His father and mother walked away, leaving Seker bleeding out on my floor.
"Seker!" I quickly rushed over to him, not sure what to do. I examined the wound.
The knife was dug deep into his stomach-- right where the scars were.
"Jayn..." He said weakly.
"Don't talk..." I scolded softly.
Then, my mom came running up the stairs, her eyes huge.
She bent over Seker-- who was staring at me.
"Jayn... Am I really just a second option...?" He mumbled weakly, then started coughing. I gingerly brushed some of the hair out of his face.
"Of course not. I'm sorry that all of this has happened... You're amazing. I'm so sorry... I should've never done that to you... I love you, Seker. I really do." I didn't even realize I was crying. He stared at me, his eyes huge.
"You do...?"
I nodded. "I love you, Seker... I'm so sorry... "
"I love you, too, Jayn..." Then his eyes drooped, and I felt terror clutch my heart.
"Don't die... Don't die..." I mumbled weakly.
