Sunlight reflected from the windows of the school and immediately I opened up my bag to try and fish out my pair of sunglasses, before unfolding them and pushing them up the bridge of my nose.
Conjuring up an air of confidence, I started to stride towards the double doors at the front of the school. My shoes made a light tapping sound against the concrete each time I stepped, occasionally causing someone to quickly glance at me as they realised they didn't recognise me.

As I walked past a small group of friends standing by the steps of the front entrance I stopped dead in my tracks before trying to subtly sniff at the air. I'd recognise the smell of another werewolf anywhere.

Quickly, I turned my head to try and find the source but there were too many people starting to head into the school. With a shrug I followed the throng of people and tried to find my way to the main reception to receive my timetable and a map of the school.

By lunch I had found my way to both of my classes (double Art and double Ancient Civilisation) and was currently walking around the back of the science labs to find somewhere quiet that I could eat by myself. Before I could find anywhere to sit down someone grabbed me roughly by the shoulder and spun me around, slamming me hard into the bricks behind me. I recognised him as another werewolf immediately and flashed my eyes before my fingernails hardened into sharp claws and I took a swipe at the side of his face which he dodged, my middle finger just grazing across the top of his cheekbone.

I shoved him back and growled menacingly at him as he hit the floor on his back.

"I don't want to hurt you, but you touch me again and I will tear you apart." I snarled at him.

As he stood up to retaliate another boy with a buzz cut ran around the corner and stood between us. "Hey,hey! Let's all just calm down here alright? Everyone put the claws away."

Reluctantly I slowly retracted my claws as the newcomer gave the werewolf boy a hand up.

"Why are you here?" The werewolf asked as I angrily smoothed out my hair, which had tangled during the quick fight.

"To learn? What else am I supposed to be doing at a school?"

The other boy snorts quietly wth laugher but stops when the other shoots him a look.

"I mean here in Beacon Hills. We just... don't have a good experience with newcomers in this town. " He sighs.

"I moved here a couple weeks ago. I didn't know there was still a pack here, I'm not here to start any territory disputes. I'm just an omega."

"There isn't. Who are you? And how long have you been a werewolf?"

"I was born a wolf, my family used to have a pack here. And my names Artemis. Artemis Lyall." I said, offering my hand to him, my bracelet jingling as I moved.

"Scott McCall." He said with a smile as he took my hand and shook it gently.

"Hi. I'm Stiles." The other boy announced as he stuck his head between the two of us, and Scott rolled his eyes.
