James POV

"Have you seen Liva?!" I caught myself before slamming into Tara who was standing over an unconscious Jade trying t revive her.

"No. I haven't seen any of our group since this began." Her voice shook as she desperatly tried to pull Jade out of her unconsciousness.

I took of in a dead sprint back towards the loading docks. Now not only was I looking for Mike, Steven, and Eric but I might as well add Liva and the rest to the list.  "Hey J6 I could use some help over here."

I looked up and saw a young water boy trying to fight off a whole wave of Enemy soldiers. A quick sweep of his outfit told me he was only a level 2 and admiration hit me on how hard he was trying. Taking advantage at the onslaught of water that he was making I grabbed his arm and pulled him out of the way while I created a mini-hurricane right there in the hall leaving the enemy either terribly injured or worse. I didn't even hesitate before yanking him back onto his feet.

"Come on. I could use your help. I know that at least three of my team members are trapped in the loading area. I have to get them out if we want a chance at survival." He was obviously still in shock over the mini hurricane but nodded his head anyway.

"Dang it!! Open you freaking metal contraption!!" I could hear a familiar voice pounding on the loading docks door.

"Rick!" He turned when he heard me.

"The electronic circuit is fried. There is no way for me to get us in. Liva or Klyde wouldn't happen to be with you, right?" I shook my head and saw his expression fall.

"Hey, have you learned to freeze stuff yet?" I turned to the rookie. He nodded a little with eyes wide with fear. "Good made a ice sword." In a few seconds he handed me one. although it was rather crude and not very sturdy it would work well enough for what I needed. I yanked the control box off the wall and jammed the sword as far in as I could get it with human force alone. Then I sent a gust of wind to hammer it in even farther before I began using the wind to twist it around.

After what felt like eternity the door creaked a little and then I turned to Rick as I pulled the nearly destroyed sword out. "Light it up buddy."

Nearly blinded, and feeling sun burnt a few seconds later the door swung open revealing the loading docks to us and the chaos within.

Eric was locked in what had to be a mind battle with someone on the far side of the room with two of the three remaining telepathic people we have left alive with him. The guy they were relentlessly battling seemed to be a general of some sort. I felt a familiar pang as someone connected with my mind. 'J6, R6, B1, glad ya'll made it we need some back up in here,' that was Eliza the only other girl telepathic person besides Jade in the entire base.

I saw someone wearing our black uniform come flying towards us and used the air around me to catch them and set them in the ground.

"Thanks, James. That would have hurt." Mike jumped up and then ran back into the fight motioning for us to join. I could see Steven through the open dock door. He had changed into that horrible fire-beast again and was holding off at least a hundred soldiers. Hans was barely visible as he jumped around the jets completely transformed into the jet material taking people down. Klyde could barely be seen on the ground outside shooting up lasers at the enemy planes behind the shadow of Steven's looming fire-demon. Joanna had simply transformed her clothes into that of an enemy soldier and was taking them down from with in. There was Liva finally standing amoungst a whole group of guns that were firing by themselves into the enemies lines and the guns around her were constantly increasing in number as the soldiers got closer and closer. Rick joined the fight inside along with B2 while I went outside to cause some stormy damage.

'Dang it! This wont be the end!' Eric's voice seemed to silence everything as it went racing across everyone's mind. Judging by the looks of pain on the nearby, soldier's faces he had opened his mind all the way. A flash of rage seared through my brain nearly knocking me to my knees as I realized he had just killed the man he had been battling. I felt his mind close off to a lot of people like he was only looking for a few. Then I realized that there was only a few people left.

'Anyone originally from this base get to the safe room now!! We need to regroup.' I was about to protest until I saw that most of the enemy was retreating.

Liva's POV

I knew that Eric was expecting me to secure all the entrances and luckily I had a little help with a level one metal boy who had found his way next to me in the fight. When I was sure that all the entrances were sealed off and Eric confirmed that there was no one in the base that wasn't supposed to be I made my way to the safe room. A quick scan of my eye would allow me entrance but I sent the rookie in first. It was kind of strange how we were nearly the same age but I felt the need to try and protect him like he was a child and I wasn't. When I descended into the room I barely held in a gasp. Of the original 200+ people on the base maybe 20 were left.

"Liva!" Everyone from our group yelled as I was wrapped into a hug by James and Joanna.

"I'm not sure exactly how they found out where our base but we have to move. It will need to be a place that is large enough for all of us to stay  and where we can still work from." Eric looked around the room. "Now this is our war. What I learned from the General I was interrogating is that a leak had sprouted from our government and that when it was discovered the person responsible simply said 'Oh, well ya'll planned on killing them all when it was finished anyway.' We can't allow that to happen." Now we are against not only the other nations but also ours. Does any one know of any where we can go."

"Rick can you give me a little WiFi?" Joanna held up her tablet and Rick sent a shot of light to it. "After World War 3 there was a string of Islands off the coast of Texas that were left uninhabited. The reason why being that it was developed as a no-inhabitant zone to decrease the tension in future conflicts by whatever country having control of Islands so close to so many countries where missiles could easily be launched and devastate thousands before the country being attacked even had time to find out about it.

"Oh and there is a rather large, now empty town on the largest of the islands?" I smiled at my best friend we had always dreamed of visiting that island when we grew up to take pictures of the devastation.

   "Sounds perfect. Let's go. "
