I snapped my eyes open and gasped, catching my breath. I looked around my surroundings, even though It was dark I knew I wasn't at home and it sent a shiver up my spin as I thought of my last memory, it seemed like minutes ago. Where was I?

I was lying on a bed that was extremely comfortable and I recognised the smell of the pillows. Cain.

My heart was beating fast, too freightened to move. That's when I heard voices coming from somewhere outside this room.

" I couldn't leave her ace. Im not that cruel. We are meant to protect her"

"What are you going to tell her?" Im assuming that was ace. It was a males voice.

"Well the truth? And you think we are meant to protect her." it was a different voice this time. Female.

I sat up trying to get a better listen but the bed creaked and I hoped they hadn't heard.

I sighed relief when they continued the conversation.

"Did you see what she did to Rhys?" the female voice spoke again

"That bastard deserved it" Cain sounded angry and I heard him walking. I prayed that he wouldn't come into the room.

"His skull was bashed in cain, She probably knows more than you think. You don't just do that to someone and think its normal. It doesn't sound like she needs protecting."

I killed Rhys. Cain killed that woman. I struggled to control my breathing and I lay back down, looking up at the ceiling.

But it was an accident? I just pushed him? I play the moment in my head, it was like something had taken over me. My eyes started to adjust to darkness, I could make out the door which led to them and a window to my left that I could escape out to.  Everytime I shifted a little the bed creaked, I silently cursed it.

"We will just see what happens when she wakes up." it was ace. I decided then that I liked him.

I moved everytime they talked in the hope that they wouldn't hear me.

I made onto my feet, It was too dark to see but I could feel I had no shoes on. Just my luck.

The window was only a few steps away but it felt like a mile as every step on the wooden floor creaked. I moved the curtains, looking out the window the moon revealed the trees ahead, miles worth of thick trees. I had no hope of getting through that. I wasn't stupid.

I would just need to take my chance with them. What was I more scared of? The thick dark forest or the three strangers in the other room.

I decided to wait it out, I didn't know who was here or why they had me here. I creeped back to the bed and layed down in the position I was in before, I would listen. They didn't know I was awake yet and I don't think I was ready for the answers, my truth of killing someone felt like a black cloud was sitting on my chest.

I remembered what the woman had said to Cain.

I knew you would come for her.

Why would he come for me? I look down to the scar that's permanently on my wrist, with or without my dreams. Could It have something to do with that?

"How do you know she doesn't know anything cain??"

"Well she didn't turn round and tell me she had been damned! I could just tell, are you going to question my instincts now after everything?" its cain speaking now and he sounds angry.

"Wait a second"

I hear his footsteps move and they are getting louder. I steady my breathing and close my eyes.
