"I really hope she gets in" Mason said hopefully. Mason and Simon had been waiting in the cafe outside the Brooklyn Academy of Arts for about a half hour now, waiting on Clary for her interview.
"Oh come on, it's Clary! Have you seen her work?" Mason then nodded. Clary was amazing at art and this collage would be crazy if they didn't snatch her up he thought. Clary then walked out of the interview room with a glum look on her face making Mason's stomach fall.
"Give me the professors names and I...I will end them" The sad looking red head gave a shocked look to her friend and then to Mason who had the same look on his face, their friend couldn't hurt a fly. "You know with a scathing email to the dean." That sounded more like their friend.
"Don't bother" She said tossing the letter on the table. Mason snatched the letter up but dropped it ad shook his head smiling. Simon then seen the CONGRATULATIONS on the top of the paper. Clary was wearing a grin now.
"The sad face? Really?" Mason said laughing. Clary laughed as well shrugging.
"Well played, Well played" said Simon. They then fist-bumped making Mason roll his eyes.
"Dorks"
AT HOME
"Dad?" Mason shouted walking into Clary and Jocelyn's apartment. They all parted ways an hour ago to get ready and Mason was here to get Clary and then go to Simon and Maureen's gig.
"In here buddy" Luke called from the kitchen. Mason walked out and Luke was standing there with Jocelyn. There was something about Jocelyn today that was kind of off. Mason couldn't quite put his finger on it. It was almost like she was dreading something. He couldn't think of anything though, it was her daughters eighteenth birthday today so she must be nervous.
"Hey" Mason said. He walked over and kissed Jocelyn on the cheek and hugged his dad. "Im here to get Clary"
Jocelyn nodded smiling. "You can Join Simon over there on the couch" Mason looked over and surely Simon was sitting there on his phone, scrolling. Mason joined him and did the same. Finally Clary came down with her jacket zipped up and you could see something metal sticking out of her pocket. Simon stood up and stared at her.
"You look amazing" He said making Mason roll his eyes. He didn't really see a difference from the way she looked an hour ago. Mason was never interested in girls. He didn't know why. He went through his whole childhood thinking there was something wrong with him because Simon could talk for hours and hours about how beautiful Clary was and he has never felt that way about any girl. He spoke to Luke about it and he just said that he had to wait and find the right girl at the right time and that did come. Just not with a girl. His name was Jason and he made Mason realize he was gay but then again, nothing ever happened because Jason was straight but that was not the point. The point was Mason finally knew who he was and Clary and Simon were the first people to find out and Luke and Jocelyn was shortly after. Obviously they were completely understanding and supportive which made Mason feel great but there was always the assholes who would either make fun of him or have older guys come up and take advantage of his openness. Thank God Luke was a cop anyway to set the record straight.
"So are we ready to go?" Clary said tucking a loose strand of red hair behind her ear.
"Actually Luke and I need to talk to the both of you" Jocelyn said to Mason and Clary. They gave them both confused looks but Clary was having none of it.
"Look mom, Simon and Maureen are paying tonight so we really need to get going" She said dragging Mason and Simon out the door.
"But you are both officially eighteen now, and-"
"Please mom" Clary said laughing. "I really dont need the talk of how im an adult now and im positive Mason doesn't want to either"
"Clary, please we really need to have this conversation"
"And we will, but can it be over breakfast?" Mason kissed Jocelyn on the cheek again and gave a knowing look to Luke and they were off.
AT THE GIG
I sat on the comfy couch at the coffee shop beside Clay who snag snugly sipping on her hot chocolate. Simon and Maureen were singing and Mason was looking out at the nightclub pandemonium. It seemed new and it looked really cool. He then seen a tall figure with jet black hair and a smaller female with the same color hair and a muscly blonde was on the other side of him but the blonde stopped and started to look in an alley.
Simon and Maureen finally finished and they came walking down. Simon was holding his guitar and Maureen was staring at him. Which made Mason smirk. He thinks their little love triangle is hilarious but also sad since it doesn't look like any of them are going to happen. the four of them walked out and sat at the back of Simon's van and sat. Simon then took off his shirt and went to put on a new one. Mason could see Maureen and even Clary staring which made Mason wonder even more.
"So you guys really went on stage as champagne enemo?" Clary said laughing. Mason started to cringe thinking of the name.
"Well we are now Rock Solid Panda!"
"Yeah we are!" Maureen said enthusiastically.
"Rock Solid Panda, coming right up. Im feeling inspired" Clary then took the spray paints Luke gave her for her birthday and made her way over to the van. Mason decided to go with her, since he love watching her work ever since she was little he would sit beside her and watch her draw, even in high school when they skipped class all they would do is share an earphone each and Clary would draw and Mason would be content watching her.
The blonde dude I seen out the window during Simon and Maureen's gig was then walking towards the club. When he was walking towards the club he bumped into Clary rather harshly.
"Hey can you watch where your going?" Clary said to him. The blonde guy turned around and he had a shocked look on his face.
"Yeah man, not cool" The blonde then diverted his eyes to Mason with the same look on his face.
"You both can see me?" He said making the other two very confused.
"When you dont want people to see you," Mason started "You should probably wear camouflage, not black" Mason winked at him. He was gorgeous but not his type. He walked around like he owned all of New York City and people like that, did nothing but annoy Mason.
Clary giggled at Masons joke but the blonde was unimpressed. "Who are you guys talking to?" Simon said looking at the pair as if they were crazy. The blonde then ran off into pandemonium but Clary watched as he walked away and disappeared into the nightclub.
"Did you guys not see him?" Mason said. They bot shrugged and shook their head. "He was covered in tats, wearing all black" Mason tried to explain but Simon and Maureen were having none of it.
"Ugh forget it" Clary said. She took off her Jacket revealing her Black see-through top. Simon's eyes were bulging out of his head and Maureen was not happy. Mason found the entire situation hilarious.
"Straight people" Was all mason said and rolled his eyes and made his way into the entrance of the club.
"Where the hell are you going?" Maureen asked him.
"To get some answers" Mason said then looking over to Clary. "You coming?" She nodded and joined him walking in.
A/N- This is really bad and the ending is horrendous but its a start :)
