It was a stormy summer night. Thunder booming, making things in the room vibrate. Lightning racing across the sky adding a split second of light in the pitch black room. The power was out so Carson and I were looking for a flashlight. Just then, the door swung open, hitting the wall so hard it echoed throughout the room. It was Miss Oaks. She took a step into the room.

"Lights out. Go to sleep," she said sternly.

"The lights are out," Carson said.

I grinned a little. He was always such a smart alec. Miss Oaks slowly stepped toward him, her hands behind her back.

"Shut your mouth," she snapped and slapped his face. "Get to bed you little brats. I will see you two in the morning," she turned to me and then walked out of the room slamming the door.

I walked up to Carson, "are you okay?" I asked touching his cheek softly where he got hit. He nodded and said goodnight. I said goodnight to him, and got in bed too. I really hope we get out of here I prayed. I can't take it any longer. Neither can Carson. I miss the old times. When Mom and Dad were still alive. I started thinking of all of us laughing, having fun, and even crying together. My favorite memory was when it was my mom's birthday. She was turning 30 years old. Dad wanted to make it special for her so he planned to have their wedding all over again since she said that was the best day of her life. Her wish was to relive that moment again. So dad invited everyone who came and set it up exactly like how it was at the Garden Grove. Their favorite spot to go to. Also where they met. Dad tricked her into going to his friend's birthday party and acted like he forgot about her birthday. She was probably upset but went with him instead. But I was at the wedding along with Carson and everyone else. As we saw their car, come everybody hid. She got out of the car and looked confused. We all jumped out and said "surprise!" she started crying tears of joy and hugged dad.

They did their vows and all of that stuff again. She said it was just like before but her two other favorite people were there. She said it was even better.

I went back to reality and smiled. I wiped my eyes. I didn't realize I was crying. I miss her so much. I miss my dad so much too. I sometimes feel they're with me. But I just wish I could see and hug them again.
