monday
the sun was out, and a new day has started for you. the rays of light gleamed on your face as you struggled to keep your eyes open. your hand extended in attempt to block the rays out, but you immediately got tired so you decided to put it back down. dragging your feet against the pavement, you were too lazy to make any kind of unnecessary movements. you almost resembled a zombie, as your head hung low, too tired to stand up straight or keep your head up high. but it was the first day of school so you kinda had no choice but to get up.
it didn't take long for you to go back to your perky self as you neared alec, your childhood best friend. his back was against the wall, scrolling through his phone waiting for you. you almost jumped in excitement as you ran towards him, giving him the biggest hug you could gather up.
alec melted into your touch, embracing your figure just as tightly. he missed you; he missed your scent and your laugh. he could go on and on about the things he loved about you.
he himself was never one to care about people, like at all. so the fact that he was patient enough to wait and walk you to school, really showed how much he adored you. at this point, the only people occupying his mind were (y/n), and his younger sister, aly. there used to be one other person as they were a trio back when they were children. unfortunately, this friendship died down after he got into a fight during preschool, but that's besides the point.
you finally began strutting your way to school with your red headed friend, pondering about whether or not you should ditch school today. alec would never back down during your middle school years, so you opened your mouth to suggest it before being cut off.
"no, we are not missing school because you decided to go to sleep late yesterday." alec spoke, his attention still on his phone.
you pouted, as your hands clasped together to beg.
"please! i'm too tired for thisss." you motioned towards your legs.he however, paid no mind to this, as he glanced over at you and looked back at his phone soon after. he only continued walking, leaving you slightly behind before you decided to catch up to him.
you huffed. "y'know, if you keep looking at your phone you're bound to bump into someone." you muttered, only to receive a simple eye roll from him.
arriving at the school and receiving your schedules, you compared them to see what classes you had together.
"just lunch?" alec sulked, as he rechecked the schedules at least 5-10 times.
"i guess so." you replied, a bit disappointed as well. you and alec always made sure to have similar grades so that the school system would put you in the same classes, but maybe they've caught onto your silly act.
"well, let's go get breakfast before class starts." he suggested, as he started heading towards the cafeteria.
"i already ate." you replied, a big yawn threatening to escape from your lips as you put your hands in your pockets.
he gave you a questionable look, not quite believing you.
since when did she eat breakfast? he continued looking at you with suspicion in his eyes until you finally gave in."okay, no i didn't. but the food here is so gross.." you looked away, pouting like a child who didn't want to eat their veggies.
alec sighed in vexation as he grabbed your arm, dragging you inside the cafeteria whether you resisted or not.
"what about bread?"
"no."
"a banana?"
"no."
"cookies?"
"no."
"a pb & j?"
you paused for a moment, before happily nodding.
he placed your food on the lunch plate he was holding, and walked to the nearest table with you following closely behind him, afraid of getting lost in the crowd.
splitting the sandwich in half, you offered him a piece.
he shook his head."c'monn. i got peanut butter on my hand for nothing?" you complained, licking it off your thumb.
"fine." he took the sandwich and ate it peacefully while you drank from your orange juice. his music was quite loud. if it wasn't for him, it would have been eerily quiet as the students inside the room were also too exhausted to converse like they always did during breaks. the yells and conversations were replaced with chewing sounds and janitors cleaning up after the teenagers.
alec would glance up at you every so often to 'make sure you were okay". when really, he just liked admiring you. he perceived you to be the prettiest girl he's ever seen. the way the light hit your face made you seem angelic-like. or the way you moved your hair to the side when it got in your face to take another bite of your sandwich. his personal favorite was when you randomly smiled at the stupid thoughts that made their way into your head. he often wondered what made you so smile so prettily.
finishing your lunch, you began to part ways. the school bell rang loudly in your ears, mentally preparing yourself for the long school day ahead.
"good luck." you mouthed, giving him a weak smile before walking to your next class.
now it was only alec alone with his thoughts. naturally, he proceeded to head to class with his phone glued in his hands and his full attention gathered upon it.
though you weren't aware of this, the only reason he was on it so much was to look at pictures of you; at the times you've spent together, or the pictures you took with him to annoy him. meanwhile, he didn't mind it at all. as much as he played the facade of absolutely despising it, he enjoyed it almost as much as you did. unfortunately, thanks to him and his big ego, he would never say that out loud.
not long after, the consequences of his actions finally caught up to him, a loud 'oof' emerging from a person other than himself. laying on the floor was a blue haired girl with matching blue eyes. she rubbed her head in pain, looking up at him with an annoyed look on her face.
alec stood still, contemplating on whether he should behave like a decent human being and help her up, or continue acting like his typical asshole self.
being the opposite of a people pleaser, he stuck to being an asshole. he walked away before the girl could say anything, and rushed to his first period instead, avoiding any kind of confrontation with the young female.
