You angrily locked your shared bedroom door. It wasn't like you were expecting him to come to you: apologizing. His pride was probably too much for that.

There wasn't much you wanted to bring back home with you- you had mainly left everything when you had come to Sindria to marry him.

"Wasn't I enough for you?" You yelled at the large portrait of you two hanging on the wall. "Damn it, I knew I shouldn't have married someone who's name literally has the word bad in it!"

A soft knock came at the door. "My Queen? Are you alright?" He jiggled the handle, "your Majesty!"

A loud thud echoed, and you turned around. Ja'far stood there, panting, as the door fell down. "Ja'far!" Your eyes went wide, "did you have to knock down the door like that?"

"I'm sorry, you didn't respond so I was worried...is everything alright?" He looked at the clothes-scattered room.

"Fine. I'm leaving today."

"Oh! Shall I call someone to pack Sin's things?"

You scoffed, "don't bother. That bastard isn't going, I'm leaving. Permanently."

Ja'far seemed shaken at your words and went blank. "Leaving? P-p-permanently? Why?" You threw the clothes you were holding in your hand to the ground. "He cheated."

"He must have gotten possessed, let me kill him really quick-"

"Please leave it, I don't want to see his face anymore."

"Your Majesty..."

You eyes threatened to water. "He knew the consequences the moment he fooled around with that girl. He knows what could have happened to us, but he did it anyway. All of the time we spent together comes to nothing when he's with another pretty face."

Even the king's right-hand man could not object to that.

"Can you move my items to a guest bedroom for now?" You asked, wiping your tears away with the back of your hand.

Ja'far looked crestfallen. "Please...you can't leave, he'll fall into ruins-"

"Ja'far. Bring my things to a guest bedroom." You repeated your words, your voice icy. "After tomorrow, he's not ever going to see my face around Sindria again."

...

"Are you stupid!?" Ja'far demanded, "what are you trying to do? You love this girl, I remember how you were like a middle-schooler for the past two years!"

Sinbad sat still in his throne, unable to reply: his words stuck in his throat, all the regretful decisions he had made.

"I can't believe you. She's leaving you now- and she ought to- aren't you going to do anything about it?"

"What is the point, even if I tried to stop her, Ja'far...I've gone too far this time. Even if she forgives me- then what? It'll be different after this."

"You deserve to be alone." Ja'far spit out, his eyes almost popping out his sockets. "You deserve to be isolated forever."

"...I know," Sinbad stared out the windows.

"She's in the guest bedroom now, she didn't even want to see your face."

Sinbad's features winced a little, but he didn't say anything.

"What if she gets married to another man when she goes home?" Ja'far demanded, pointedly. "Will you accept that? Can you imagine her raising a family with a different man in the future?"

"Of course I can't! You know that." Sinbad didn't want to admit it, but he was afraid to confront his Queen. He was afraid of rejection.

And he told Ja'far that.

Ja'far was only stunned into a silence of how cowardly his king had become.

...

You couldn't sleep: tossing and turning only made the room turn even hotter. It felt so weird to sleep in a room without Sinbad's scent.

But that was his fault.

The door opened, and you shut your eyes. "Are you awake?" A small voice asked in the darkness. You wanted to yell at Sinbad to leave, but you kept your eyes shut.

"Oh, you aren't..." The bed shifted towards your back. Sinbad crawled onto the bed and sat by your side. "I heard you decided to leave tomorrow morning."

You listened to him, your king.

"Of course I don't want you to leave. But what I did, how much I know about you- I know you wouldn't forgive me even if I groveled on the ground.

I wasn't thinking. Honestly, that's all. Yes, I didn't think about the future like you always scolded me to do. But I don't want you to leave me- aren't I selfish?"

His hands rested on your head, gently touching your hair. "I don't want to be in control of this kingdom without you. I don't want you to go off with another king."

Sinbad's hand found yours, and he drew little circles on the back of yours, patiently and repetitively.

"What can I say to make you forgive me? I never meant to replace you- yeah, that's impossible-" he agreed with himself, "you can cheat on me once! ...but I don't really know what I'm saying anymore."

Your eyes opened, and you sat up on the bed, looking down onto his surprised expression. "I-I thought you were asleep." He jumped up.

Standing, you reached out and slapped him hard across his face. "Do you really think it will be that easy? Do you really think you can be that selfish?"

He stared back at you, his deep golden eyes which you used to feel like you could stare into for hours.

"Forget it, of course you can be." You stood, a hurtful expression scrawled across your face. "Get out."
