"What's wrong?"
"Nothing, it's fine."
Aladdin threw you a puzzled look but disappeared out the door of your shared bedroom. You let yourself fall backwards on the bed.
It had been five years since you've met Aladdin. A year since you've been together, side-by-side and hand-in-hand.
He had matured magnificently; it was no surprise of how busy he was. Recently, he came home late at night and scented of tiredness.
In the day, he was never at home. Always off to see Alibaba and help him grow his kingdom, visiting Yamuraiha, sometimes even Judal.
Was it simple to say you were lonely?
Not quite, he had important things to do and you knew that he did. He had more important things to tend to; helping save a country's economy, solving problems no one else could.
Some days he could not even make it home.
You smacked yourself in the head. It wasn't like you to leave an issue like this alone, a problem like this could leave to separation.
Hurrying down the hall, you scurried to find him.
You caught him at the entrance of door, and you stopped to a slow walk. "Are you leaving?" Aladdin's expression twisted, sorry scrawled across his face.
He took steps towards you, his hand lingering in the air. He breathed your name, softly, as if you would disappear if he said it too loudly.
The Magi's hand trailed through your hair, his cool touch sliding down your cheek for a second; a familiar comfort to you. He looked as if he was going to say something.
He bit his lip, and smiled kindly.
"I was just about to go out for a walk."
You brightened, "shall we go together?" Aladdin seemed relieved at your answer. "Of course, I would love it if you came."
Smiling to yourself happily, you stepped out into the warm sunlight. Aladdin came to your side, offering his hand. "Where would you like to go?"
You took it, the same fluttery feeling you had the first time you clutched his hand. "Wherever is fine," you spoke, absentmindedly, "I'm just happy to be with you."
Aladdin coughed, and you turned to look at him.
The tips of his ears to the base of his neck burned an obvious shade of red, and he averted his eyes from you.
His hands squeezed yours, "how about the bazaar?"
You walked along the path, hands loosely intertwined, "how has work been?"
Your lover sighed, "busy- I know I haven't had much time to spend with you, lately." He stopped walking, and turned.
His blue eyes didn't sparkle in the sunlight, he seemed much more tired in the natural light- bags much more obvious.
"You know I want to treasure you a lot, I know I'm not currently capable of doing that..." He looked pained, "I'd understand if you would want to leave."
You clutched both of his hands, leading him into the shade of the trees.
"I don't even know how you can think that. Yes, I've been missing you, and yes I know you're doing things more important--"
"Damn it! Where the hell were you?" Judar screamed from behind you. "Alibaba and I have been searching for almost an hour!"
Aladdin drew his arm around you. "I'm not coming today!"
"Oh my god," Judar complained when his eyes landed on you. "Look, you can have your little date on another day, can't you?"
"No, Judar," Aladdin stood up and shook his head, "I really can't come in today. Any day but today is fine."
The other Magi scowled, "I'll tell Alibaba you're sick today, so you'd better not mention anything about today to him!" He dashed into the skies, grumbling the whole way.
You watched him leave, curiously, before turning to the Magi beside you.
"You said you weren't busy today," you accused, "shouldn't you go?"
"You're always so selfless." Aladdin smiled, leaning his head against your shoulder. "Can't you be selfish about me for today?"
"What are you saying," you laughed, looking at him.
"Come on, try being selfish." He teased you, a blissful smile on his face as he pinched your nose.
"Stay with me for today, then, you absolutely can't leave my side!"
He stretched and planted a kiss on your lips, sunlight dying his hair a soft blue. "Of course!"
