there he was that horrid man that looked like a snake leaning over me laughing. he had a syringe with simmering blue liquid in it. i tried to get up and run but he wrapped his arm around my waist and whispered in my ear.

"oh no child running is a big no no, you will be punished for that later. but first time for this injection, lets hope this actually works unlike the rest." He said.

he brought the syringe to my neck and injected it into me. soon an ear piercing noise went through my head, i fell to the ground clutched my head trying to get the sound to stop, however i could still hear the snake man.

"i can't believe i found one, they usual stay to themselves, it was like my birthday when i found this-" i couldn't hear his last word as the sound that made it feel like my head would split got worse.

I leaped out of my sleeping bag covered in sweat and shaking. i slowly stood up and began to walk to the river near our camp. I got there and took my nightwear off and emerged myself in the water cooling off my hot sweaty body. tears began to fill my eyes but i forced them back. Why, why did this happen to me. why did i have to go through those horrible things. i pushed aside those thoughts thinking i couldn't be sad because people had it worse than me.

"you're aloud to be sad Hitomi. saying you're not aloud to be sad because people have it worse is like saying you're not aloud to be happy because people have it better." Rico said in his usual calm manner.

tears began to brim my eyes again but i forced them back i shot my head up when i heard a branch snap. i looked to where i heard it and saw no one, i got out of the river and got dressed and headed back to camp.

~~~~Mamoru pov~~~~

i woke up when i heard rustling to the tent next to me. I walked out of the tent careful not to wake up the other two men in the tent. when i got out i saw Hitomi walking away from camp. getting worried about her i followed her. she went to a river, he took her nightwear off and i couldn't look away from her, not because i'm a perv, i couldn't because i was shocked to see the scars that littered her body. the most noticeable one went from her left shoulder to her right waist. however there was only small amounts a clear skin on her back. what the hell happened to her. i looked away deciding i would wait in the forest and follow her back to make sure she got back to camp okay.

as i was walking i stepped on a stick. i jumped up into a tree and concealed my presence. I watched her go back to camp and followed her, i don't understand why but i felt the need to protect her. once she went back to her tent i went back to mine, and pondered why i feel the need to protect that stupid, reckless, annoying girl.

~~~~time skip Hitomi's pov~~~~

we were heading back from delivering the scroll and we came up to a lake.

"time for the second stage of chakra control." my sensei said out of the blue.

"Hu-" I was cut off by being picked up and thrown into the lake.

"WHAT THE FUCK YOU STUPID IDIOT." i screamed at me sensei.

he just laughed at me then i watched Mamoru get picked up and thrown into the lake as well.

"suck it royal shit." i said laughing at him.

if looks could kill i would be dead but i couldn't help but continue laughing. he put his hand on my head and dunked me under the water. once i got back to the surface i glared at him and he smirked. getting annoyed by him i turned to my sensei.

"what the fucking hell am i suppose to be doing?" I shouted at him.

"i thought that was obvious, walk on the water using chakra." He said in a mocking tone and i grew more irritated.

"what's wrong can't do it, bet i could do i before you." the fucking stupid little prick of a self centred ass hole royal shit said.

"wanna bet royal shit." I said growing more furious by the second.

"yep." he said that same smug looked on his face.

"OH BRING IT THE FUCK ON YOU FUCKING ROYAL SHIT." i yelled in his face and began doing it but fell in the water continuously.

i looked up to see the royal shit already getting the hang of it, what the fuck. getting more angry i tried again only to fall under the water.

"Hitomi calm down you chakra is unstable you need to calm down and focus ." Rico said in his calming tone.

Listening to him i closed my eyes and took a deep breath. i focused the chakra into my feet and hands i used my hand to get above the water then i stood on the water. Keeping my eyes closed and breathing under control a began to walk nearly falling multiple times but i manged to stay up for a good 5 minutes before i fell back into the water. By the end of the day both Mamoru and i got a pretty good handle on it. i went to my tent without dinner a went to sleep but before i did i spoke to Rico.

"thank you for being there for me." i said then let my tired body fall asleep
