i ran home after i finished telling the hokage about the mission. i jumped up through my window not wanting to deal with Kaka-Baka right now, he's a pretty good guardian but lets just say i knew you would be able to tell something was up. after watching those kids and how happy they were brought back what happened to me when i was their age, and i hatted those memories, i had nightmares about them. snapping myself out of my dark thoughts i went to take a shower.
i came out of the bathroom i dug through my dresser trying to find something to wear. i pulled out a green dress and put that on. i very rarely wear dresses due to the fact that i feel self-conscious in them but around Akimichi i felt comfortable. i grabbed a pair a light brown boots that reached just under my knees and i wore knee high socks under my boots. i left my hair down and jumped out my window. i jumped from roof to roof going to the Akimichi's place. i jumped down to the entrance and saw Choji coming. he waved at me a gave me a warm smile a i couldn't help but return the gesture.
"hey Hitomi, come on lets go." He said with enthusiasm and grabbed my arm and began to drag me to his house.
we made it inside and it was a lovely home. i looked to their kitchen to see Choji's mum. she turned to me and gave me a warm smile.
"dinner will be done soon why don't you two go do something." she said.
Choji nodded and dragged me outside. we sat down and i began making a flower crown. then i felt someone touch my hair. i looked behind me to see Choji playing with it. a small smile came to my mouth as i let him play with it. i calmed me and a sigh escaped my mouth.
"so what's up with you?" Choji asked.
"nothing why do you ask?" I answered.
"i can tell something's on your mind, so what is it?" He said.
"it's not much, just dealing with some past stuff." I said.
he stopped playing with my hair and hugged me from behind.
"if you ever need someone to talk to I'm always here Hitomi." Choji said.
"I know Choji, and thank you for that." I said a small smile on my face. "now what did you do to my hair?" I asked.
he ran inside and came back out with a mirror and out it in front of my face. i was met with my face and a head of hair that was in a braid and had flowers through it.
Choji reached his out to me and helped me up. we went back inside and ate. the meal was filled with Choji putting more food on my plate and when i said i was full and shoved more food down my throat. by the end of dinner i was on the ground holding my stomach i looked up at Choji and glared.
"you said you wouldn't kill me this time." I snapped and he just smiled.
"one you're not dead and two i said no promises but I guess I'll try." he said a smile on his face and i just groaned.
i got up and Choji and I went back outside and talked. he told me all about his team and the mission they went on. I soon stated to head home. i slowly walked home and i went back to my dark thoughts.
"Hitomi, You cant think like that, it's not your fault. and your birth mother did love you." Rico said.
"wait how do you know my birth mother?" I asked confused.
"um well that's a long story." He said getting slightly nervous.
"Rico." I said dangerously low.
"I knew your mother and she died, she didn't want to leave you, she loved you more than anything." He said trying to calm me.
"you're not telling me everything." i said.
"I'll tell you another day, but i don't think you're ready yet."
"but."
"I'll tell you when i think you're ready." he said firmly and i accepted it and made it home.
