I step through the crowds glancing for a familiar face, but everyone came out as strangers.

I pull out my phone and shoot a Text to my friend Veronica.

'Where are you?- message from Rae' after it fully sends I pocket it and breath the festive scent. The air was a winter crisp filled with sweet smells from hot chocolate to freshly baked churros.

Smiling, I make my way through the endless stands and stop at a souvenir store. As I swing the door open it dings and I am instantly greeted by a tall petite woman.

Her hair, smoothly slicked back into a perfect dark bun, and her baby blue eyes turned to me as she gives me a warm smile. "Hello, welcome to Kaylee's souvenir hot spot, We have a variety of things from fancy city snow globes, to trending designer outfits made exactly here in Seattle, Washington!"

I smile at her enthusiasm and thank her for the welcoming.

Walking down an isle, I run my fingers across the splendidly carved Carmel brown bookshelf, and examine different hardback novels.

I've always been a sucker for romance, but they always have to have some type of action story line like: queen captured by gold thieving goblins in search of the long lost jewels. But it has a romantic plot twist where she falls in love with— maybe a goblin prince?

I feel my phone vibrate twice in my loose high waisted blue jeans. I pull it out and see 2 new messages, one from Veronica, and the other from my mom. I scroll through my notifications and then click on the message from my mom first.

'I might not be home for a bit, dinner money on the counter.' - sent from mom

I roll my eyes and didn't bother texting back as I look at the text from Veronica.

'Looking for some hotties ;) 'but I'm by the Christmas tree.' -sent from veronicaaa

I chuckle, typical Veronica, to go out and hunt for her next prey. I kind of feel bad for the guy she chooses next.

She was always one to catch the eyes of many with her long bouncy locks of red hair and her shimmering hazel eyes. One would say she was a classical golden girl, always having slim curves, and a 'body to die for'.

I wave at the lady as I leave the store and start to walk to the main square. I shiver at the winter breeze and I tug on my dark brown winter jacket.

Winter was always my favorite season, when the snow covers the ground like cotton and the clouds are draped a dark grey, like a bucket of paint was slashed across the sky.

The bare hollow trees whip and slash from the harsh wind and I smile, it was absolutely beautiful, like a form of peaceful scenery from a movie.

My black boots crunch on the loose fallen snow as I search around the square for a familiar red head. I look towards a store to see her chatting up two muscular looking gym junkies. I sigh and walk to them flipping my hair into place.

"Oh, there's my friend now! Isn't she such a Beauty?" My best friend gushes as she raps her arm around my shoulder smiling. The two guys eyes scan me up and down making me cross my arms and lift an eyebrow.

"Uhm, my face is up here fellas." I say and they quickly apologize and one rubs his neck embarrassed while the other smirks.
