Chapter 10 | Papyrus' Fight

  Ayano could barely sleep in Snowed Inn. Her neighbors snored a whole lot... "Screw it." she went down to the lobby of the inn.
"Hiya! You look like you had a great sleep. Which is incredible, because you were only up there for about 2 minutes..." The nice bunny said. Ayano shrugged. "Here's your money back. You can pay me if you're going to stay overnight."
"Ugh..." Ayano found that she only had three nice creams, the snowman piece and the stick. She threw the stick away and put the snowman piece in the box.
She saw a nearby shop and walked inside. A bunny woman similar to the Snowed Innkeeper stood inside, looking at Ayano patiently.
"Hello, Traveller. How can I help you?" She said.
Ayano bought 4 Cinnamon Bunnies and stocked them in her pocket.
"Bye now! Come again sometime!" The shopkeeper said.
Ayano walked until the end of Snowdin Town. There had a home with Christmas decorations and it looked warm inside. Beside there stood two mailboxes. One was full, labelled "sans." while the other was empty, written "PAPYRUS". When they progressed, something blocked Ayano and Chara's view. It looked like snow, it was snowing awfully heavy there.
When she kept walking, Ayano saw a silhouette of a tall skeleton. Ah! It was Papyrus...
Slightly afraid on what he would do, Ayano stood still.
"HUMAN. ALLOW ME TO TELL YOU ABOUT SOME COMPLEX FEELINGS. FEELINGS LIKE..." Papyrus paused. "THE JOY OF FINDING ANOTHER PASTA LOVER. THE ADMIRATION FOR ANOTHER'S PUZZLE-SOLVING SKILLS. THE DESIRE TO HAVE A COOL, SMART PERSON THINK YOU ARE COOL. THESE FEELINGS..." Papyrus pointed out. "THEY MUST BE WHAT YOU'RE FEELING RIGHT NOW! I CAN HARDLY IMAGINE WHAT IT MUST BE LIKE TO FEEL THAT WAY." Thanks, Papyrus...? "AFTER ALL, I AM VERY GREAT. I DON'T EVER WONDER WHAT HAVING LOTS OF FRIENDS IS LIKE. I PITY YOU... LONELY HUMAN..." True, Ayano's pitying herself now. Senpai needs her, and she's down here with a bunch of weird monsters. "WORRY NOT!!! YOU SHALL BE LONELY NO LONGER!!! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, WILL BE YOUR..." Papyrus' voice drained out. "NO... NO, THIS IS ALL WRONG! I CAN'T BE YOUR FRIEND!!! YOU ARE A HUMAN!! I MUST CAPTURE YOU!!! THEN, I CAN FULFILL MY LIFELONG DREAM! POWERFUL! POPULAR! PRESTIGIOUS! THAT'S PAPYRUS! THE NEWEST MEMBER, OF THE ROYAL GUARD!"
Ayano's SOUL came out of her chest. Papyrus had started a fight.
"Ugh... I'm tired..." Ayano said. She took out her scissors, and fought Papyrus.
"SO YOU'RE SERIOUS... THEN, LET'S SEE IF YOU CAN HANDLE MY FABLED 'BLUE ATTACK'!" Papyrus threw a series of blue bones and the ghost just made Ayano stand there. Suddenly, Ayano felt her SOUL grow heavy. She was standing in midair, then fell to the ground. Her SOUL turned blue. A bone bullet hit her.
"YOU'RE BLUE NOW." Papyrus said. "THAT'S MY ATTACK! NYEH HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH!" Well, Sans didn't warn her about all this.
After a while of fighting, Papyrus considering his actions, supporting himself again, then repeating this stupidity, Papyrus was tired.
"WELL! *HUFF* IT'S CLEAR YOU CAN'T... *HUFF* DEFEAT ME! YEAH! I CAN SEE YOU SHAKING IN YOUR INDOOR SHOES! THEREFORE I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, SHALL GRANT YOU PITY! I WILL SPARE YOU, HUMAN!" Papyrus announced. "NOW IS THE CHANCE TO GRANT YOU MERCY."
After doing so, Papyrus was standing at the corner of Snowdin.
"NYOO HOO HOO..." Papyrus wailed. "I CAN'T EVEN STOP SOMEONE AS WEAK AS YOU..." "Excuse me?!" Ayano was insulted. "I killed Nemesis-chan! who are you calling weak?!" "UNDYNE'S GOING TO BE DISAPPOINTED AT ME. I'LL NEVER JOIN THE ROYAL GUARD, AND... MY FRIEND QUANTITY WILL REMAIN STAGNANT!" Papyrus cried.
"Pfft, how pathetic..." Ayano joked. "Let's be friends."
Papyrus cheered up. "REALLY? YOU WANT TO BE FRIENDS... WITH ME?!" Ayano nodded jokingly. "WELL THEN... I GUESS... I GUESS I CAN MAKE AN ALLOWANCE FOR YOU!!!" What. "WOW!!! I HAVE FRIENDS!!! AND WHO KNEW ALL I HAD TO DO TO MAKE THEM WAS TO GIVE PEOPLE AWFUL PUZZLES AND FIGHT THEM? YOU TAUGHT ME A LOT, HUMAN." Papyrus kept on rambling about. "I HEREBY GRANT YOU PERMISSION TO PASS THROUGH! AND I'LL GIVE YOU DIRECTIONS TO THE SURFACE." Ayano nodded, all ears. "CONTINUE FORWARD AND UNTIL YOU REACH THE VERY END OF THE CAVERN. THEN... WHEN YOU REACH THE CAPITAL, CROSS THE BARRIER. THAT'S THE MAGICAL SEAL TRAPPING US ALL UNDERGROUND. ANYTHING CAN ENTER THROUGH IT, BUT NOTHING CAN EXIT... EXCEPT SOMEONE WITH A POWERFUL SOUL. LIKE YOU!!! THAT'S WHY THE KING WANTS TO ACQUIRE A HUMAN. HE WANTS TO OPEN THE BARRIER WITH SOUL POWER. THEN US MONSTERS CAN RETURN TO THE SURFACE! OH, AND TO GET TO THE BARRIER, YOU HAVE TO CROSS THE KING'S CASTLE. THE KING OF ALL MONSTERS..." Papyrus continued. "HE IS... WELL... HE'S A BIG FUZZY PUSHOVER!" If anything, Ayano was relieved. "EVERYBODY LOVES THAT GUY. I AM CERTAIN IF YOU JUST SAY, 'EXCUSE ME, MR. DREEMUR, CAN I PLEASE GO HOME?' HE'LL GUIDE YOU RIGHT THROUGH THE BARRIER HIMSELF! ANYWAY!" Papyrus said before Ayano could ask any questions. "THAT'S ENOUGH TALKING! I'LL BE AT HOME BEING A COOL FRIEND! FEEL FREE TO COME BY AND HANG OUT! NYEH HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH!" And off he went.
Wow, that was weird. Ayano couldn't wait to go home and tell everyone what she just experienced. She had taken some pictures of Snowdin Town and the RUINS along the way so maybe she could just show it to everyone.
