"Sweetheart, I'm gonna go over to Greg's, and David's at Charlotte's," my mum smiled at me. "There's money for pizza, ice cream in the freezer, and there's coke in the fridge,". I nodded lightly. "Are you sure you can be alone right now?".

"Yeah, I'll be fine, Mum," I assured her impatiently. It was Thursday, and I was kind of recovering. "Maybe I'll ask Maddie over,". Her mouth kinked upwards, and she left. "Maybe.". I looked around the living room.

I ordered the pizza, but I found myself in a miserable state. The only person I wanted to be with was Harry, but I couldn't be with him. I'd had History with him the day before, and he was sitting next to a girl, who was very eager to talk to him. I wanted to rip her fucking head off, but a small warning glare made her change her mind and she shut up. There were many privileges to being popular. He sent me a text right after class.

Harry: So I'm not allowed to be with other girls.

I hadn't responded then, but suddenly all alone, waiting for pizza; I had nothing better to do.

Me: Of course not.

Harry: But you were allowed to kiss Michael.

Me: You're being a bitch about this.

Harry: Hardly.

Me: You know, I'd have no problem with destroying everything you left here.

Harry: Same here.

Me: I know that's a lie.

Harry: How?

Me: Because, let's be honest, you always cared more for me than I cared for you.

That was a lie. A big lie. He stopped replying after that. I knew it was below the belt. I knew it hurt him. But I sort of relished in that. I didn't know why. I didn't really have a reason to be mad at Harry.

The pizza came, and I ate it. I called Aunt Olivia and told her about everything. Everything was so boring and dull. Not even reruns of Russell Howard's Good News cheered me up. I knew I had to stay awake until David came home, but it wasn't like I was having any trouble with staying awake. I took the ice cream from the freezer, when I heard David come in. I walked into the living room to greet him.

"Hey, Sel!" he said cheerily. "How are you feeling today? Ooh, ice cream!". A grin crept up on my mouth, as I found another spoon.

We sat down on the sofa, and I felt relaxed. "I feel better now, thanks,". We ate the ice cream in less than half an hour, and almost right after we both drifted off to sleep.

A hushed voice woke me up. "Honey, wake up,". I slowly opened my eyes to see my mother. I looked over at the clock on the wall, noticing it was 1 am.

"Hi," I whispered sleepily. "I'll carry him up, Mum,". She shook her head, insisting that she did. "It's really no problem.".

"Go to bed, Selena," she told me. "I'll take him up. You have school tomorrow.". I carefully got up and I went down to my room.

6 hours later I awoke to the sound of my alarm, and I hastily went in the shower, dried my hair, dried my body, got dressed, put on makeup, combed my hair, put it into a ponytail and I packed my bag. I walked over to Maddie's house, where she was waiting for me outside.

"You look better today," she proclaimed and hugged me. "That's good.". We raced to school, chatting rather happily. My first class that day was Art, which I had with Zayn. Honestly I wasn't that thrilled. Not because Zayn was Harry's friend, but because I just didn't feel inspired to paint or draw.
