Chapter 18
“Come on,” I smiled pushing Damion off me slightly. He grinned before pushing his body off me completely. I stood up dusting myself off and then checking the time on my phone. Nine twenty four.
“We can head over to Mathew’s house and get Robbie hopefully he’s up.”I shrugged grabbing my bag off the table, by the time I was done Damion was standing at the door waiting for me. I quickly walked over to him grabbing his outreached hand.

“We need to talk about what happened at your apartment,” Damion said glancing at me from his seat in the driver’s seat as he drove. I nodded looking down at my hands.
“What am I going to do,” I thought a loud as it all started to set in, “ What if they come back and Robbie and me are there? What if they come after you? What-”
“Layla, you’ve gotta stop with the what if’s. Nothing is going to happen to me and nothing is definitely not going to happen to Robbie or you. I promise you that,” Damion said sternly his jaw clenching at the end.
I nodded. “I got a phone call from the chief of police; they said that there was a disturbance call around eight o’clock about saying there was a sound of smashing and banging-”
“Why and the hell wouldn’t they go over and check what all the fuss was about?” I questioned irritated. Even though he couldn’t look at me because he was driving I knew he was rolling his eyes.
“Would you Layla?” His question had me silent.
“Exactly babe, they just thought you were angry or something, so they didn’t bother. I can’t blame them, if it were you and you walked in on that I’d be livid. Which is why I want you to move in with me, permanently.” He ended as we conveniently stopped at a stop light, turning to look at me.
“Are we ready for that, relationship wise?” I asked raising an eyebrow.
“We’d get to see each other a lot more, rather than an hour lunch date, when we’re both available. And I’d feel a lot less paranoid if you and Robbie were under the same roof as me,” he paused while looking back to the road as the light turned green, “if you don’t want to, I won’t pressure you to.” He said softly.
I tried to process it all, but there were a million thoughts in my head.
“Honestly, I’m not quite ready to move in together yet. I don’t want to move in together when,” I can’t say I love you, is what I wanted to say but thought against it, “when all this is going on I’m just-”
“I get it Layla, you don’t have to explain, and we can wait until you’re ready.” He assured me but I could hear the slight disappointment in his voice but I pretended not to hear it.
The rest of the ride was pretty silent, when we arrived to Mathew’s house Damion walked over to my side and opened the door for me. I smiled before taking his hand in mine and walking towards Mathew’s door.
“Well look at the married couple,” taunted Mathew as he opened the door. I rolled my eyes before pushing his chest playfully and giving him a hug. Damion and him did a manly handshake before following me into the house.
“Where’s my baby?” I asked walking into the living room that was currently occupied with, Brittney and Robbie.
“Mommy!” Yelled Robbie as he came running over to me. I quickly picked him up. “Hi baby! Was Uncle Matty good?” I asked kissing his cheek and sitting down on a seat, Damion soon joining me.
