Chapter 4

Damion Black’s POV******

I am an idiot. That’s basically how I can sum up everything that happened last night. It started when I saw her in the store and I thought I’d “accidently” run into her but I didn’t expect a boy to be in the cart. He looked just like Layla giving me the impression he was her son. But I don’t know why I told her I’d been to the store all the time, because in reality I’ve only been there a handful of time. I am an idiot. And then I basically ate her ear! I only met her yesterday, but I can’t fight my attraction to her. I can’t let it happen again. Yup, that’s the plan, strictly professional .

With this thought I got out of my bed and went to the bathroom and got ready. After my shower I got dressed in a grey button up, that I rolled up to my elbows, black pants, a silver watch that my father had gotten me when I first became the CEO of Rolling Stones two years ago, black shoes, and a black tie. Frankly I hated dressing like this all the time, but being the youngest CEO of a company in the US, I had to dress the part. Wearing  ties and dress pants always makes me feel like I’m not  being, me.  I sometimes feel like people judge me , and think I’m in way too over my head.

I really need to stop thinking like this before work, it won’t make any one happy, and when I’m not happy no one is. I grabbed a Redbull from the fridge and looked for something else to go with it. I should have really actually brought something when I went to the supermarket, instead of just boxes of Redbulls. “Mirah!” I yelled leaning against the counter. Mirah is my house keeper, and like a second mom. Mirah had blonde hair that was always in a tight ponytail, and ocean blue eyes, needless to say she was a looker when she was younger and now of course.

“Yes Damion?” She asked when she entered the kitchen placing the laundry basket on the counter.  I smiled my heart winning smile. “Can you go grocery shopping while I’m at work, pretty please?” I begged hugging her fragile body. She let out a hearty laugh. “I could have sworn you went to the grocery store yesterday?” She said raising an eyebrow. I scratched my neck. “Well, I did but I saw a girl and I forgot what I was suppose to be doing.” I said all at once then looking away. “Did you say you saw a girl and forgot what you were doing?” She said surprised and then narrowing her eyes at me. I held up my hand. “It wasn’t just any girl,” I paused just thinking about Layla, “I meant to say I,” “Don’t you lie to me boy, we will talk about this later. Right now you need to get to work.” She scowled and then basically pushed me out the door while handing me an Apple.

“Thank you Mirah!” I said before she slammed the door shut behind me.

***************** ************* ************* ***********

The drive to the office was quick since I took my Mustang, god I love this car, it hits one eighty. Arriving at the office I greeted everyone that spoke to me. I greeted Ms. Rainy  the lady who sits behind the desk in the hallway. She takes all the calls for the building except for mine of course, that’s what Layla does now. So you can imagine how hectic her day is on a daily basis.

When I walked into my office I almost cursed at the person in the corner but then I realized it was just Layla. Today she was wearing a red tight skirt, a white button up, and white heels, and her black hair was pin straight. This girl is trying to give me and erection before my day even starts. “Good Morning Layla.” I managed to say without sounding nervous. She looked at me surprised before covering it up with a smile. “Good  Morning, Mr. Black.” Great now I’m not even Damion anymore, I’m “Mr. Black”. Keep it professional. Keep it professional. Keep it professional. I chanted in my head.

For the rest of the day I kept myself busy with work, every time Layla would get up and do something I wouldn’t look up even though I wanted to see if that skirt did her justice. Shaking my thoughts away I continued to do endless amounts of work. Our next issue is coming out tomorrow and one of our pages got lost so now another one has to be made and sent up to me which reminds me. “Layla, I need you to go down to the publishing department, where one of the pages are. I need you to bring it up here so I can look over it.” I informed her without looking up. “Will do.” She responded. “Now.”  I retorted still writing down notes. I could feel her glaring at me, which made me want to laugh, but when I looked up she was smiling. “Of course.” With that’s she stood up and left the room and closed the door lightly, sarcasm, might I add.
