I rushed about the airport, trying to find Victor. It was around eleven twenty at night, and I desperately needed to see my Yuri.
I spotted the familiar platinum hair and rushed to it. No doubt, it was Victor.
"Victor!" I called out. He turned to me.
"Finally! It's hard to find your way around this airport." He smiled.
I nodded in agreement. "Are you going to take me to the hospital?"
Victor nodded. "I would think that would be where you want to go."
"I just need to see him..." I sighed.
He gave me a frown. "I know that he is awake, but you need to be quiet and respectful. He hasn't spoken to anyone, but Yuuri." He ran his fingers through his hair. "We have yet to tell him you would be here in the next few days after he woke up. If we even just bring up your name, he just changes the subject. He seems to not want anything to do with you." Victor says sadly.
It did hurt to hear that. To know someone you care and love so much, doesn't even want to speak to you just by hearing your name. It dug painfully into my heart.
"Does he remember anything?" I ask.
Victor nods again. "Yes. He remembers everything up until we got to the hospital. He doesn't like to talk much about what Viktoryia and Boris did, but Yuuri was able to have him tell him.
We got to the car and put my bags in the trunk. I got up in front with Victor, still holding the conversation about what happened to Yuri.
Viktoryia had beaten him with a spiked dog collar. He had wounds on his chest, back, neck, and arms. Viktoryia had broken his ankle and deeply bruised his kneecap. Though, those injuries weren't as severe. Doctors had said that if Yuri took physical therapy and took care of himself, that he could skate again.
We soon arrived at the hospital, and Victor got us in quickly. Victor opened the door to Yuri's room, and I walked in.
Yuri was speaking to Yuuri, but once he heard the door open he stopped and looked at us.
His face seemed blank, lacking expression. Even though he didn't show his emotions through his face, his eyes told me everything.
He turned to Yuuri, a confused face on.
Yuuri sighed and placed a hand on his shoulder. "You need to talk to him. He's worried about you."
He got up and walked away from Yuri and walked away, towards us.
"I'll give you some time to speak with him. I'm sorry if he doesn't speak to you."
I nod. "You're fine. I can hold a one-sided conversation."
I walk to where Yuuri had sat, and watch as the couple walks out and leaves us alone.
Yuri's eyes were still glued to the door.
"I get it if you don't want to talk to me," I say to him.
He held his gaze to the door. He looked tired, worn out.
"Just let me do the talking if you want..." I took a deep breath. "I I want you to know that what you did.." I paused slightly. "Scared the living shit out of me."
Yuri looked at the covers crumbled in his small hands. I looked up his arm, and I could see all the stitches. I counted eight before going back to talking.
" I know you broke up with me, but Natalya is a friend. She's like a sister to me. She was trying to get away from someone so she came to me cause I'm basically family."
Yuri's hands tightened when he heard the word 'family'. I stopped for a while, and placed a hand on his, making his gaze shift to me.
But his eyes truly did say everything. They were full of tears and terror. I heard the sentence that left his lips, and I wanted to cry too.
"Beka, please don't touch me."
I lifted my hand off him, respecting his wish.
"I'm sorry Yuri... Just know..." I gulped. "I still love you."
He looked away from me. He huffed and brought a shaky hand to wipe his tears.
I looked down. Why did he not want me to touch him? Yuuri touched him no problem. Is he scared of me?
"Yuri, can you please talk to me? I want to know what happened to you. Not from Victor or Yuuri, just you."
He looked back at me. "Beka, I'm so sorry."
"About what? What are you sorry about?"
He took a deep breath and shook his head. "I'm sorry I couldn't do it. I couldn't drown you with the others. I couldn't do it, cause I knew if I did if I ate that one last pill if I ate you..." he sobs a bit. "I'd be dead. I wouldn't be here. You wouldn't have me as a burden, and you could find someone who would be a better fit than me."
"You really think I could find someone better than you?" I asked him.
He nodded. "I never wanted you to see me like this. At my weakest. you need someone stronger and doesn't get too jealous too easily."
I shook my head. "Yuri, you are my perfect fit. If you did die, I'd be alone forever. I can't see myself with anybody but you."
Yuri was silent, his stare holding mine. I could tell he was shocked.
"Beka, I'm still very sorry." he looked away. "I made you worry."
I just smiled. "There is no need to apologize. As long as I love you, you don't need to say you're sorry. Cause what do I need to forgive? you aren't in the wrong."
Yuri wiped his eyes again. "I love you Beka."
I felt my heart race with those words. "I love you too."
Yuri smiled for the first time since I had gotten there. It didn't look fake or forced. It was genuine. He was actually happy.
