Lilly and I fell asleep after talking all night. I got back home very early in the morning and mom was up. She had her hair tied up covered with a bandanna and in sweats and a big t-shirt. The room that once looked like a living room with every inch and every corner filled with some sort of nicknack, rewards moms vases and plants... wasn't that anymore. Mostly everything was gone. She stood a few feet in front of me leaning on the broom glaring. It seemed like that was the last pile of glass and scraps she had rounded up.

"I went to Lilly's" I started before she could question me.

"Your father says you know what all of this was about Alana."

I sucked my teeth he as no business telling her what he thinks I know and don't know.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

" I swear to god if this is about that boy-"

"What boy?!" I didn't mean to yell so I stepped back.

"You know." She spoke slow. She was actually mad I can't remember the last time she was actually mad at me.

"Well I don't know anything and since you think it's about that boy it's not. that boy is completely done and over with okay?" She stood there for a moment in thought and I went towards my room.

"We need to talk about this." She mumbled and I stopped right there.

I couldn't stress this anymore whatever she wanted to know would be just want she needs and wants to hear that's all I can tell her for now.

I sat right there at the bottom of the stairs. "Okay so what?"

"He has something to do with it doesn't he."

"No."

"Alana I swear to-"

"This isn't gonna go anywhere if your just gonna push me like anything is gonna change."

"Nothing's gonna change?" She laughed. "Everything is gonna change, first of all your gonna stop seeing that boy-"

"Already did." I mumbled.

"And you're gonna stop walking around this damn house like you don't have a care in the world. I don't know what the hell has gotten into you."

I think I've made her mad. At first she's sobbing and trying to keep me as close as possible to her and now she's angry. As if this has been boiling up inside her since the day I've changed. I felt bad I'm not only going around in circles with Chresanto but I'm bringing everyone around me in circles too.

"I don't know I'm just..." I couldn't think of anything to calm her down until she sighed herself and went on.

"Is it because of your father?" She asked.

I didn't want to speak of him but if it would lighten her up I agreed.

"I didn't get a chance to explain myself and neither did he."

"He doesn't get to mom." I looked up at her.
