NO POV
"Aperi oculos maiores nostrum. Fac eius. Excitandam et consurget duplex virtus et potentia." The witches chant as they huddle around a woman lying in the bed. Her raven hair lying softly on her shoulders, her porcelain skin shining by the glow of candles surrounding her. "Aperi oculos maiores nostrum. Fac eius. Excitandam et consurget duplex virtus et potentia."

In the background there are three vampire siblings, two men and a woman, watching the witches intensely, waiting to see if the woman would awaken. The eldest of the three sighed heavily. "What if it doesn't work? I can't just watch as Elizabeth lies there forever."

The woman places a hand on the man's shoulder in comfort. "Have faith, dearest Elijah. With a love as strong as yours, she will awaken."

The man smiles weakly and places his hand gently over his sister's. "Thank you, Rebekah, but it's been over a year. If Elizabeth does not awaken soon, we may have to put her at peace." As he says those words, his eyes fill with pain.

The third sibling frowns deeply. He did not want his best friend to die, but he did not want her to continue to suffer. "If she does not awaken after this, I will make sure she is put in peace, brother. " The two brothers looked at each other and nodded in agreement.

Elizabeth's POV

"Has she awoken, yet?" A female voice sounds.

"No, unfortunately." Says a male.

"Perhaps, I was too late." Sighs out third voice.

"No, Nik. Listen to her heart. It’s beating. She is alive, but something is holding her back.” The female voice explains.

Suddenly, oxygen fills my lungs and I sit up with a loud gasp of breath, making the room go silent. My eyes scan the room landing on three figures, all of whom I love. Rebekah, a sister in many ways, but blood. Niklaus, even though I loathed him in the beginning, he is truly my best friend. The third is the one I sworn to stay far away from in my coma state. The one who stole my heart and has it crying out for him, but yet stomped and broke it all the same. My lost love, Elijah.

The three siblings stare at me, seeming frozen. “What do I look like, an exhibit?” I ask, breaking them from their stare. “How long have I been out?”

Niklaus and Elijah rush to my side, Niklaus’s face held a grin. “Welcome back, love. You gave us quite a scare. You've been sleeping for a year.”

Elijah moves closer to me. “How do you feel?” At that moment, a burning feeling fills my throat, and a tiny, but audible, growl ignites from me. Niklaus smirks and holds a finger and speeds off, then returns with a girl with blood on her neck. Veins form under my eyes and I get ready to involuntarily pounce. Suddenly, Elijah holds me back. “No! This is for her to decide, Niklaus!”

Niklaus scoffs. “You do realize she will die, permanently if she doesn’t drink?”

“And you do realize that forcing her into it without letting her decide is inhumane and unjustifiable!”

“Boys.” I say trying to defuse the battle before it begins. Unfortunately, I was not heard.

“This is the love of your life and you would rather her die?”

“No, but if it is what she wishes, than I shall respect her choice. I think of her happiness over my own.”

“Boys.” I say a bit louder, but still not getting their attention.

“Oh really? You didn’t think about that when hurting young Marcellus, who means the most to her out of all of us!”

“I did that for your redemption, you-“

“Boys!” I use my power to lift them up and knock their heads together. Rebekah bursts out laughing, as the men lay on the floor holding their heads. “That is quite enough!” I get out of the bed and stand next to Rebekah, ignoring the woman a few feet away. "As much as I can't stand Elijah at the moment, he is right. It is my choice." I look at Rebekah. "How long do I have?"

"A day, maybe two." She says.

I sigh and run my hand through my hair. "Then I shall take this time to think of my decision. Until then, where is Marcellus?"

Niklaus places his arm over my shoulders. "Come. I'll take you to him."
