S I X

Even though I don't exactly sleep I do rest, which only last a few hours. I wake with the sun already have disappeared into the night and Madi right by my side. She is the most beautiful creature to ever walk this Earth. What time is it? We got so caught in the moment and we just lost ourselves in our dreams.

I look over at her night stand to see it is 12:47 a.m. Oh my gosh it is my sweet Madilyn's birthday. December the eighth, I've treasured this day since I met this sweet angel. I don't know why but she seems more angelic than me and no other human or angel can compare with her.

"Madilyn. Wake up birthday girl, I have a surprise for you." I say and shake her arm a little. "What?" She says sitting up with a mumbled voice. "Come on I want to show you something."

"Ooo like what?" She says smiling big like always. "Come here." I get off the bed and prepare to show her my wings, my dark wings. I noticed I haven't used my wings in a while so it kind of stings my back a little. They finally unfold from my back and sretch out to about six feet each. She sees them and her eyes just glow as much as they ever had before. She walks up to me to touch my left wing and she just seems so mesmerized by them.

"Wow." She finally manages to say. "They're so beautiful. I think they're darker than night itself. Are you evil Justin?"

"No. I'm supposed to be, but I choose not to. I like being good, it makes me feel better about myself. I like being a guardian, I like being with you." She says nothing but smiles.

"Come." I hold out my hand for her to take, which she doesn't even think twice. She takes my hand and I carry her bridal style out her window and into the sky.
She gets scared at first, so she wraps her arms around my neck holding tight. For her birthday I want to show her something beautiful, haha I wish I could show her herself. Dammit it's cold I should have told her to grab a sweater! She's probably freezing right now, I bring her close to me to share my body warmth.

I fly over downtown and she points to all the things she likes. I find the highest building there is and stick a safe landing. She is still in my arms when I land and we lock eyes for a minute or so. Ugh I wish I can call her mine.

She jumps off and overlooks the city. I hug her from behind which works well because of her short height. Her standing at five foot three and me at six foot two. "This is so beautiful." She says shivering. I hold her tighter bringing us closer together. "Not as beautiful as you."

"Stop." She says playfully. "You are the one who is clearly flawless."

"Never." Is all I manage to say. We leave the building and fly all over Austin, exploring all the beautiful lights. We head on home after a bunch of talking and laughing I finally say, "Happy birthday Madilyn."

"Thank you so much Justin." I want to tell her how much I love her and how much she means to me. "Madi?"

"Yes Justin?" She says and I am just not sure how to make it out.
"I lo-." I got cut off by her phone ringing.

"Hi Diana." She says answering it. Diana is her aunt and they are almost best friends. "What?! What happened!!? No!" She hangs up and starts crying really bad and she falls to her knees. I run to her as soon as possible and she hugs me tight.

"Madi what happened?" She just continues crying not answering my question. "Madi what happened!" She still doesn't answer all she does is cry.

Oh noooooooo!! I am truely sorry I had to do that but I needed a twist for my story. I promise it won't all be disappointing.
