Chapter 3: Near Death

Kise's POV

"Um... Momoichii, why are we here?" I asked hesitantly. It was Saturday night, and we were in a club in the suburbs of the city. There were a lot of people there so no one paid much attention to us. Thankfully.

"Yeah Satsuki, what are we doing here?" Aomine asked.

"We're here to get intel," she answered. "You can get almost anything you want to know from here."

"How do you know Sachin?" Murasakibara asked.

"I just do."

The place was full of people, but they it was silent, and filled with whisperings. All the people sat in groups. Looks like everything that goes on here is shady.

"Four water please," Momoi smiled at the bar tender, who immediately nodded, and placed four glasses of water in front of us. "Just a minute," she said, calling after him.

"Is there anything I can help you with?" the bar tender asked.

"Yes, I would like to find the shadow please," she said, lowering a voice, her smile gone.

The bar tender looked at her with suspicion. "What business do you have?"

"Nothing much. I just need to find the shadow," she said, giving him a look through her eye lashes. He looked at the rest of us. He was probably wondering what we were doing here looking for this assassin.

"Sorry, can't help you," he said, before he started walking away. But Aomine stopped him.

"Listen here buddy, if you know something and are not telling us, you're going to be in a lot of trouble," he said, giving him a glare.

"Eh," I quickly stepped in when I saw the bar tender's displeased look. "What he means is, if you know something, please tell us. We really need to find the shadow."

"You kids can't be more than 16, 17 years-old. Why would you need help from the Shadow Phantom?" he asked.

"We just do," Murasakibara answered, snacking on a potato chip.

"Well, I don't know how you're supposed to find him for I never needed to. But if you want some help, she can help you," he said, pointing his thumb to a cubicle at the corner of the club.

"Thank you," Momoi bowed her head slightly, before we made our way to the cubicle. The cubicle was covered by a red curtain. Momoi knocked on the wood next to it. "Excuse me, may we come in?"

"Yeah," a tiny voice answered.

We pulled the curtains to enter, and when we did, we were speechless.

"E-Eh?! You're a kid?!" I exclaimed.

Sitting at the table was a little girl, who looked not more than 10 years old. She was sipping at a glass of water. "Yes, I am," she said. She had red hair and red eyes.

"What is a kid like you doing here in a place like this?!" Aomine asked.

"Please take a seat," she answered, ignoring Aomine's question. We quietly sat around the round table, opposite of her.

For a kid like her, she acted really like a professional grown-up. Cool, calm, collected.

"Please state your business," she said.
