Chapter 4- Safe, for now

(Flint's POV)

I stretched, awake. Last night, was amazing. I made some beds out of leaves and moss. I made one for Flame, and one for me. They were incredibly comfortable. I looked over at Flame. She was still asleep, breathing softly. I got up, without waking Flame. I went for some berries and fruits. Nearby the bush field, was a small lake. Perfect! I went over to a mass field of bushes and trees, not too far from camp. I was able to pick huge amounts if berries and fruits, mostly Oran berries, because they were our favorite. I also had something else to do. I needed a gift for Flame. I sign that I will love her, no matter what. I decided on a bracelet. I gathered some moss, and a Leppa berry. I rolled the moss into a circle. I chopped up the Leppa berry so it was chunky. I put the chuncks on the bracelet, and pushed down. The chucks broke, coating the moss in a yellow dye. Perfect! I walked back, with berries in arms. The fire was still going from last night. I cooked the berries over the fire. Flame yawned from behind me. I looked over at her. We both smiled at each other. A soft feeling in my hand told me the berries were done cooking. I placed them in a pile infront of Flame's bed. I smiled at her. "How long have you been up?" She asked. "A while." I responded. She started eating the cookied Oran berries. I took one of the apples I picked off the tree and ate it. "I have something to show you, follow me." I said. Flame looked at me, confused, but then nodded. We finished eating. "Oh, grab the beds, we're gonna need them." I said. Again, she stared at me confused. I just smiled. We picked up our beds, and I started heading off to the pond, with Flame, close behind. We were there in no time. She saw the pond, and immiediatly hugged me. I slipped the bracelet on her at that time. She looked at me, and then at her wrist, then back at me. We hugged longer. We needed a water source, no matter her type, and I found one. We placed down the beds near the pond. There were a couple dead trees. I went over to them, and used Comet Punch on them. I made the wood into seats and tables. I placed the extra branches into a pile, and places small stones around it. Then, all the sudden, a Krabby jumped out of the water, angry. Flame was the closest one to it. "Kraaaaby!!!!" it screamed. It opened up its claw, and a blast of water came out. "FLAME!!!" I yelled. I ran as fast as I could to Flame. I couldn't let her die from this Krabby. I jumped infront of Flame, taking the water gun. It barely hurt me, but still hurt. I got up, and ran at the Krabby. I used Aura Sphere on it. It instantly took alot of damage, and went back into the pond. "FLINT! Are you okay!?!" Flame said. "Yeah, fine..." I said. Something in that pond was glowing. It's auroa anyways. Flame couldn't see it. And I was somewhat glad she couldn't. "I'm going to rest." I said. I took a raw Oran berry of a nearby bush, and ate it. I lied down on my bed, and fell asleep.

(Flame's POV)

I yawned and looked around. I saw Flint and smiled at him. Last night almost seemed like a dream to me. I started to daydream, looking around at the trees and the sky. Suddenly, I realized Flint was cooking berries. "How long have you been up?" I asked curiously. "A while" was all he said. Flint walked over and set a few Oran berries in front of me. Halfway done eating, Flint said, "I have something to show you, follow me." I was confused, but sill nodded in agreement. I continued eating my berries, and then when I finished Flint said again, "Oh, grab the beds, were going to need them" I was even more confused, but he smiled at me to reassure me. I grabbed my bed and followed Flint into the trees. Suddenly, Flint stopped, I walked around him to reveal a pond. I turned to Flint and hugged him tightly. I felt something slip onto my wrist and looked down to see a bracelet on my right arm. I smiled, and hugged Flint even tighter. He pulled away, and I watched as he set up camp. I looked into the water and almost thought I saw something, I waved it off, and continued to watch Flint. Then, I heard a splash in the water, and something yell "Krabbby!" I turned around to see a Krabby standing there, starting to shot a water gun from its claw. Everything seemed to go in slow motion. I knew it would kill me, but I felt frozen to the ground. I closed my eyes, waiting for death, when I felt something run in front of me. I saw Flint take the hit, clutching his stomach. With no time to spare, he shot a Aura Sphere at the Krabby. "Flint!" I yelled, "Are you ok?" He nodded at me. "Yeah, fine..." Flint looked down at the pond, but quickly looked away. "I'm going to rest." he said. He walked over and grabbed a Oran Berry. Then, he lied down on his bed and fell asleep. That's when I smelled smoke.
