Lizzy's POV
"What are we doing with the bodies?" I asked, shaking.
"I don't know and I don't care." Evan grumbled, wiping the blood from his face.
I let out a sigh. "Fine. You take care of them then. I don't have time for your crap. I'm sick of always being the leader." I pushed past him and marched to my room.
"Liz come on." He called after me. I shook my head and closed the door tightly behind me. Will was passed out on the floor, and Dean was seated next to him.
"Lizzy oh thank God!" Quinn said, rushing to my side.
"What happened?" I asked frantically.
"He-he-he passed out!" Quinn said, shaking.
"You need to heal him now Dean." He nodded and placed his hand on the arm. "He lost too much blood." I muttered. "Carl go help Evan with the bodies. You too Elana." They nodded, rushing out of the room. "Quinn he needs water." He nodded too, leaving behind Elana and Carl. "How's he doing Dean." Dean gave me a weak smile and a thumbs up. I let out a sigh and fell to the floor. "I can't keep this up. This is too much responsibility for me." Dean gave me a concerned look and placed his free hand on my knee. "Thanks Dean. I'm tired already. I'm going to take a nap. Please don't wake me up. I think Quinn can handle it from here." I ruffled his hair and climbed up to my bed. I was asleep within minutes. My alarm went off at 2 and I got up right away. Elana was getting up too.
"I'm off to wake everyone up." I said to her. "Get everyone in the room up and ready to go. We need to eat and then I think we can still leave." I marched down the hall and pounded on both doors. "Lizzy?" Alex asked, poking his head out.
"Change of plans. We're eating now and then leave right afterwards." He nodded and ducked back in. Quinn was already dressed and in the kitchen when I went to prepare the early dinner.
"Evening." He said with a grin.
"Hey." I muttered, popping a few ibuprofens and swallowing them dry. "You feeling ok?" Quinn asked, pulling out some dishes.
"Yeah just stressed."
He nodded and then gave me a side look. "Do you really believe Canada is coming up with a cure?"
I shrugged. "I don't know and I don't care. I need to give Sammy, Lucinda, Justin and Alex at least some shred of hope." I turned the stove on with a sigh and stuck a pot of water over the range. "They deserve it."
Quinn nodded thoughtfully. I watched him carefully. I still wasn't sure about him, but he had definitely changed since we met him a few days ago. Alot more quiet and seemed to be lost in thought a lot. I wondered if he had been hanging out with Lucinda a little too much. I let out a chuckle as I dumped the noodles into the pot.
"What's so funny?" Justin.
"I don't know. I think I'm delusional." I said grinning at him. He clapped me on the shoulder. I never realized how tall he was. Unless I shrunk.
"It's good to see you happy." He said, smiling back.
Alexander's POV
We were ready to leave. We had eaten an extremely early dinner and gathered up our bags. Now we stood in front of the door behind Evan. Sammy came up next to me and slipped her hand into mine.
"I'm so excited."
I grinned at her. "We know Sam."
She dropped my hand but didn't leave my side. Evan unlocked the second door and waved Carl to the front, who shined his flashlight down the tunnel.
"Damn that's dark." Sammy whispered. I nodded and adjusted my bag.
"Its definitely a way to go." Elana confirmed, her hand intertwined with Carl's.
"Onward!" I called, jabbing my fist into the air.
We started to walk and Lizzy closed the first door behind us, leaving only the small beam of lights from two flashlights.
Evan talked as we walked. "Careful. Make sure your weapons are out and walk at normal speed. We don't anyone bumping into someone and start up a domino affect."
"How long are we gonna walk?" Lucinda asked, her voice coming from behind me.
"It should take roughly two months or so. The bunkers along the way should have food, but we have to be wary of people attacking us." He stopped talking and I took in our surroundings. It was a big tunnel, maybe about ten people across and two Justins high. So like, almost twelve feet. There were dinky lights hung up on the ceiling, but they didn't seem to connect to anything that would power them. It was creepy as hell.
