The girl and the beast

Chapter 1: Hannah Lin and The Bear-man

Humans, beasts, those two different beings exist beside each other, but the humans remain blissfully ignorance of the beast world, except for one clan, the Lin clan.

Soft Footsteps are heard, and bounce off the wall, a woman with beautiful white hair that seems to sparkle as the moonlights light up the hallway and touch her, the women stops in front of a open door, where a little girl is waiting in bed,

"Mama!" The girl shouts excited at seeing the book in her hand, the mother giggles at her daughter being loud at night, not caring if the neighbors are bothered by her shouting,

"Hey now its night time so we should be in bed" the mother gives the daughter a kiss, the girl looks at the book with a meaningful look, causing her mother to softly laugh,

"Of course, I'll read it to you" she holds up the book showing off the title, the legends of the beasts,

"You need to know about the beast Hannah, one day you'll understand why I want you to learn about them" her mother said leaving the book beside her daughter bed,

"I'll read it to you when you are older" her mother promises, Hannah looks up at her mother feeling protected, as always when under her mothers warmth light.
----6 years later----
In six years a lot has happened to Hannah, the most recent one being that she lost her mother, someone who was a master at light magic, a rarity in this world. Because of this it was expected for her to have magic as well, and half the clan kept pressuring her, while the other, they called her a monster, the reason for that was because of the father she never knew.

She always wondered who her father was, her mother talked about him a lot and it always got her wondering why he wasn't there, she even had a dream once, a short but heartfelt dream, she saw ruby red eyes that pierced her soul, and the figure that was shadowed by the night told her

"I can't be with you and your mother yet, but one day I will be, and together we will protect you" her father had said it with a cocky and sure tone, it filled her with confidence, but it can't happen, not anymore.

Her mother had died unexpectedly, the cause of unknown, only her grandma had known the cause but only told her.

"You were born special Hannah, your mother had to sacrifice a lot just to save you, I know her, she saviour all the memories she had with you, there was only one thing she regrets-"

"And that is the fact I never met father"
A nine year old Hannah Lin is saying, cheerfully telling a cute small white mouse that is covered in white fur, her life story,

"I know it's not much, but I'm still young, there's so much growing too do" Hannah clutches her hand and looks down sadly ignoring the weird talk between two people as they walk by,

"But I wonder if I'll ever use magic like my mom" Hannah whispers to the snowball, it chips at her causing Hannah to smile a little,

"You may not say much but your cutene-"

"Hey!" Hannah jumps up at being rudely interrupted, the snowball hides on Hannah shoulder, she looks up at the much taller man who's covered by a cloak,

"Hey you don't just interrupt someone while they are speaking" Hannah says pointing upward, not caring that his shadow is towering over her, the man bends down smirking at her, it's then she catches what he looks like causing her to gasp,

"What? Scared now kid" the bear-man beast says, the beast fur is red-brown and has scarlet red eyes, two teeth are sticking out of his mouth, one pointing up and the other down.

"Of course she is, she's a little girl and they get eas-" the smaller cloaked man says, she can't really see the possible beast, he stops mid word and his jaw drops at Hannah next action,

"Oh wow giant teddy bear!" Hannah exclaims, she jumps and hugs the beast, surprising the bear-man with her strong grip,

"W-woah, l-let g-go little girl" the beast struggles trying to pry off Hannah, but fails and ends up falling on the ground with Hannah,

"Oh" Hannah blushes a little

"I'm sorry but it's just your so cute and fluffy" Hannah says getting off him, the bear-man starts taking in gulps of air, "there's no way she really started choking you" the smaller man said, next thing he knows he's stuck in the wall by a simple push by Hannah,

"I've had this strength as long as I can remember, but I don't use any magic" Hannah explains kicking a rock, something is telling her to trust the bear-man,

"Magic?" They both say but the bear-man is grinning excitingly, while the smaller one, he says it with disbelief not believing a little kid,

"Well I never thought I'd met a human with magic, this is perfect" he mutters to himself excited,

"W-what you can't be serious? You plan to make this runt your apprentice" the smaller one says not believing his friends words. The bear-man waves off his friends words smirking at Hannah,

"Hey kid if you want to be strong, come looking for me, it's a once in a life time chance"

"To suffer" the smaller one mumbles, a growl followed by a punch in the head, and a additional shove by the little girl, both Hannah and the bear-man ignores the pained groan heard loudly from the man,

"I'll consider it" Hannah says smirking up at him

"You teddy bear" a frustrated growl is heard from him, Hannah can tell that he really wants to shout at her. The bear-man grabs his friend and walks away leaving Hannah once again with her fur all friend dubbed snowball, it's silent under the bridge with bikes all lined up together for anyone to take,

"So anyway like I was saying, I'm still young and anything can happen" Hannah looks at the direction the bear-man walked away,

"It's not like anything is going to happen around here, maybe living with teddy bear would be exciting" snowball chirps at her, making her smile,

"Ready for a Adventure snowball?" Hannah runs off shouting out teddy bear,

"Stupid teddy bear you never gave me a name!" Hannah doesn't realize it, but this adventure, it will shine some light on her, and what makes her so special.
